These are the names that could replace Kevin McCarthy, there is Donald Trump - A small group of rebellious Republicans in the US House of Representatives succeeded in ousting their leader, Speaker Kevin McCarthy, on Tuesday, which was a historic first.  It's unclear who will replace McCarthy, but here are some possibilities: Steve Scalise Representative Matt Gaetz, the lawmaker who spearheaded the effort to oust McCarthy, said he would support Steve Scalise to take over the role. Photo: CNN The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives (DPR) Kevin McCarthy was fired from his position, because he was considered treasonous for collaborating with the Democratic Party.  Conservative groups in the US House of Representatives were angry because McCarthy passed temporary funding supported by the White House to prevent a government shutdown.  The vote to oust McCarthy was led by the conservative right-wing Republican, Matt Gaetz, who bet that he could oust the speaker of the House of Representatives despite only having the support of a handful of people.  "The reason Kevin McCarthy was ousted today is because no one trusted him," Gaetz said after the vote, as quoted by AFP.  He added, "Kevin McCarthy has made a lot of conflicting promises, and when it comes down to it, he loses."
