Benefits of Reading the Quran
A teenager asked his grandfather:
"Grandpa, what is the use of me reading the Qur'an, while I do not understand the meaning and intent of the Qur'an I read".
Then the old man answered calmly:
“Try to take this stone basket and take it to the river, and bring me a basket of water. "
The boy did as his grandfather had told him to, but all the water he brought was gone…before he got home.
His grandfather said:
"You have to try faster"
Grandfather asked his grandson to return to the river. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty (without water) before he got home.
He said to his grandfather:
“It's impossible to carry a basket of water. I want to replace it with a bucket"
"I want a basket of water, not a bucket" Grandpa answered:
The boy tried again, and ran even faster. But still failed too. The water still ran out before he got home. The basket remains empty.
“Grandpa… this is useless. What a waste. The water will definitely run out on the road before it reaches home”
Grandpa replied:
“Why do you think this is pointless? Take a look and take a good look at what happened to the basket.”
The boy looked at his basket, and he just realized that his dirty basket had turned into a CLEAN basket, inside and out.
“My grandson, what happens when you read the Qur'an? Maybe you don't understand at all. But when you read it, without you knowing it you will change, inside and out. That's God's work in changing your life.
Subhanallah..Nothing is in vain when we read the Qur'an.
Let's read it more often.
Even if you don't know what it means, you're still trying to understand what it means.
"ALLAHUMMA O Allah, have mercy on our lives with the Qur'an, and make the Qur'an an imam, light, guidance and mercy for us and our families... Amen"
