Why Does Istighfar Often Bring Lots of Fortune?
Istighfar is prescribed for three times

-- In a hadith, Rasulullah SAW gave a message about the benefits of making istighfar. Narrated from Ibn Abbas RA, the Prophet SAW said:

"Anyone who needs forgiveness (needs to make istighfar), Allah SWT will surely provide a way out for him for all difficulties, relief for all worries, and provide His sustenance from unexpected places." (HR. Abu Daud, Ibnu Majah, Ahmad in Al Musnad, At Thabrani in Al Mu'jam Al Awsath, Al Baihaqi in As Sunan Al Kubro, and others)
In "Awn Al Ma'bud: Syarh Sunan Abi Daud", it is stated that a person needs to ask Allah SWT for forgiveness when he commits a sinful act, a disaster strikes him, and is in a situation where he continues to commit sinful acts.

So why do you need to do a lot of Istighfar? Rasulullah SAW has given a message regarding this matter, as in the following hadith:

"Blessed are those whose records of deeds find abundant forgiveness." (HR Abu Daud)
Asking Allah for forgiveness will make it easier for someone to solve all the problems they are going through. He will be given a solution to the problems he faces. This way out is the way to the abundance of Allah SWT's grace.

People who ask for forgiveness are also given space for all the worries, anxieties and anxieties they feel. The space in question refers to safety. The sustenance that Allah SWT gives to people who ask for forgiveness is halal and thayyib sustenance. Sustenance will be given to people who ask Allah for forgiveness in unexpected ways, that is, they did not think about it and at times when they were not expected.

It is also stated in Syarh Sunan Abi Daud, that this hadith comes from the following words of Allah SWT:

"And (also) those who, when they commit abominable deeds or wrong themselves, (immediately) remember Allah, then ask forgiveness for their sins, and who (else) can forgive their sins except Allah? And they do not continue sin, while they know. Their reward will be forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. And (that is) the best reward for those who do good deeds." (QS. Ali Imran verse 135-136)
