Despite having a legal basis, some countries refuse entry permits to passport holders of certain countries. Countries can impose these bans based on various things, such as security, diplomatic relations, and geopolitical conditions.
According to VisaGuide data, there are 17 countries where passport holders are currently banned from entering at least 1 other country.

Reported by Good Stats on Friday, March 22 2024, the following is a list of seven passport or citizenship holders who are most often prohibited from entering other countries:

1. Kosovo

People with Kosovo passports will most often be prohibited from entering other countries as of March 2024. Currently, 17 countries prohibit people with Kosovo passports from entering their territory, and even transit will be prohibited.
Countries such as those in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and several Asian countries, including Indonesia, have not recognized Kosovo as a sovereign country.
However, there are also many countries that allow Kosovo passport holders to enter even though they have not recognized the country's sovereignty diplomatically, such as Kenya, Cambodia, Ecuador, and so on.

2. Israel

The second country was Israel, after Kosovo, where 12 countries rejected his passport. Most of the countries refusing entry are members of the Arab League which boycotts Israel.
Iran, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Yemen are the seven countries that bar entry to individuals proven to have visited Israel, one of whom is marked on his passport with an Israeli stamp.

Brunei also does not recognize Israel's sovereignty and prohibits Israeli citizens from entering its country.

3. South Korea

In this list, South Korea has a different case. Through the National Security Law, the South Korean government prohibits its citizens from entering the territory of eight other countries for security reasons.
In April 2023, conflict between two military wings in Sudan caused the South Korean government to ban its citizens from visiting the country.
Citizens' violation of this rule is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years, according to South Korean law.

4. Russia

As many as six countries in the European Union refuse to accept Russian citizens. Mainly for geopolitical reasons related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
These six countries prohibit Russian citizens from entering for tourism, business, sports or cultural purposes.

5: Bangladesh

Currently, Bangladeshi citizens are prohibited from entering three countries, namely Iraq, Libya and Sudan, due to security and political reasons.

Libya prohibits Bangladeshi residents from entering the country. In contrast to Iraq, it is still possible to allow transit for necessities.
Sudan, on the other hand, prohibits Bangladeshi citizens from entering except trade delegations and college students who already have residence permits in Sudan.

6. Palestine

Georgia, Madagascar and Syria are three countries that currently reject the arrival of citizens with Palestinian passports into their countries.
The Georgian government has no longer granted visas to Palestinian citizens since 2018. On the other hand, the Madagascar government has not recognized Palestinian passports from the start, which means they are prohibited from entering or transiting in the country.
As for Syria, Palestinian passport holders are prohibited from entering the country without prior approval from the Syrian Immigration Office.

7. Somalia

People with Somali passports are currently prohibited from entering three countries, namely Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
These countries do not recognize that the Somali government has the authority to issue passports on its behalf. However, Somali citizens can still enter with passports issued by other countries.
