- Young Nadhlatul Ulama (NU) preacher Muhammad Iqdam Kholid or known as Gus Iqdam made a controversial statement regarding Palestine.
In his lecture, Gus Iqdam said that the situation in Palestine was safe and peaceful, unlike what was reported in the media.
"Isu ne neng media niku palestina iki piye ora safe ora piye piye piye, safe, wong kulo recover yo intact. Intact or not lost anything. Gus Iqdam said that when he recently visited Palestine he was able to worship well at Baitul Maqdis. Gus Iqdam even admitted that he could meet the Baitul Maqdis imam and the sheikhs there.
During his visit there, Gus Iqdam reiterated that Palestine was safe and nothing had happened. He then told about the Israeli soldiers who were guarding Baitul Maqdis.
According to him, the Israeli soldiers who were in front of Baitul Maqdis had a duty to guard it, not to intimidate Muslims.
Gus Iqdam said, the Israeli soldiers guarding in front of Baitul Maqdis were tasked with ensuring that people who entered Baitul Maqdis were truly Muslims.

Dalam ceramahnya, Gus Iqdam menyebut bahwa situasi di Palestina aman damai tidak seperti yang diberitakan di media-media.
"Isu ne neng media niku palestina iki piye ora aman ora piye piye piye, aman, wong kulo mulih yo utuh kok. Utuh ora keilang opo-opo. Nang mriko aman, nyaman," ujarnya saat mengisi pengajian di Dusun Plosorejo, Kecamatan Wilangan, Nganjuk, Rabu, 6 Maret 2024 dikutip dari Youtube JPproductions.

Gus Iqdam mengatakan, saat dirinya berkunjung ke Palestina baru-baru ini bisa beribadah dengan baik di Baitul Maqdis. Bahkan Gus Iqdam mengaku bisa bertemu dengan imam Baitul Maqdis dan para syekh di sana.
Selama kunjungan ke sana, Gus Iqdam kembali menegaskan Palestina aman tidak terjadi apa-apa. Ia lalu menceritakan mengenai tentara Israel yang berjaga di Baitul Maqdis.
Menurut dia, tentara Israel yang berada di depan Baitul Maqdis itu tugasnya menjaga bukan untuk mengintimidasi orang Islam.
Kata Gus Iqdam, tentara Israel yang berjaga di depan Baitul Maqdis bertugas memastikan orang yang masuk ke Baitul Maqdis benar-benar orang Islam.
Potongan ceramah Gus Iqdam ini ramai beredar di akun X. Sejumlah netizen menghujat Gus Iqdam karena mengatakan Palestina aman.
Menurut sejumlah netizen, Gus Iqdam berkunjung ke Baitul Maqdis di tepi barat yang wilayahnya relatif aman. Peperangan justru terjadi di wilayah jalur Gaza, yang juga masih wilayah Palestina.
Sehingga pernyataan Gus Iqdam mengenai situasi Palestina yang aman dan damai tidak bisa diterima para netizen.
