The Fate of Nasdem After Raising Anies, Present in Government but Jokowi No Longer Invited as Coalition

The Nasdem party was not invited to the meeting of the general chairmen (ketum) of the political parties (parpol) of the government coalition with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). 

The general chairman of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh, did not come to the Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/5/2023) evening. In fact, all the chairmen of the pro-government political parties attended. 

They are PDI-P chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto, Golkar chairman Airlangga Hartarto, chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar, chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, and Acting chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Mardiono. 

The meeting at the Palace began at 19.00 WIB. The meeting lasted for about two hours. 

This is the second time that Nasdem has not attended the meeting of the chairman of the government coalition political parties with Jokowi

The first meeting in question was when Jokowi met with the chairman of the government coalition political parties at the PAN headquarters last Sunday (2/4/2023). 

PPP said Nasdem was indeed not invited

Chairman of the Advisory Council of the United Development Party (PPP) Romahurmuziy or Rommy said Surya Paloh did not participate in the meeting between the government coalition political parties and Jokowi. Rommy said that the meeting was not attended by Nasdem. 

"That's right. All the general chairmen of the government coalition, except for Nasdem, plan to meet Pak Jokowi tonight at the Palace," Rommy said when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (2/5/2023). 

Rommy emphasized that Surya Paloh was not invited to the meeting with Jokowi. 

What's more, Surya Paloh is abroad

Not invited because you support Anies? 

Rommy said Surya Paloh was not invited because he had supported former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. 

Meanwhile, Anies was promoted as a presidential candidate by the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP), which was filled with Nasdem, Democrats and PKS. 

"Nasdem has already decided to take ABW (Anies Baswedan)," said Rommy. 

Rommy said the meeting with Jokowi was related to plans for future political formations. Thus, Surya Paloh, who had supported Anies, was not invited to meet with Jokowi. 

"Of course (not invited) because one of the materials is a plan for political formation in the future," he said. 

Nasdem asked what was wrong with supporting Anies

Deputy Chairperson of the Nasdem Party Ahmad Ali questioned what was wrong with Anies Baswedan so that Nasdem was not invited to the meeting between the chairman of the coalition government political parties and Jokowi. 

Ali was confused as to why they had not invited Nasdem, who had supported Anies with the Democrats and PKS. However, he said, Nasdem was not invited because Anies was just Rommy's interpretation. 

"My question is, what's wrong with Anies? What is the problem for them about Nasdem naming Anies?" said Ali when contacted, Tuesday (2/5/2023). 

Ali explained, Anies is the son of Indonesia and one of the best cadres owned by the nation. 

In addition, he said, Anies met the requirements to become a presidential candidate. 

"This is party sovereignty. So if the reason is because of Anies' stretcher, let the people judge that," he said. 

Nasdem emphasized that he would still support the government

Meanwhile, Ali emphasized that Nasdem has a responsibility to support the government until Jokowi's leadership ends. 

The reason is, Nasdem was included in the party that carried Jokowi from the start, not just entering the government like Gerindra and PAN. 

"We still have the responsibility to guard this government until it's finished. It's different from friends who just joined," said Ali. 

Ali said Nasdem was not disappointed because he was not invited to the meeting with Jokowi. 

He called Nasdem to keep thinking positively because maybe there were other things they needed to talk about. 

"Yes, of course for us, we always think positively that no matter what, Nasdem is invited to attend or not. So for me to see the meeting must be good, must have good intentions. And whatever is discussed must be good for the nation," Ali added. 

Nasib Nasdem Usai Usung Anies, Ada di Pemerintahan tapi Tak Lagi Diundang Jokowi sebagai Koalisi

Partai Nasdem tidak diundang ke pertemuan para ketua umum (ketum) partai politik (parpol) koalisi pemerintahan dengan Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi). 

Ketua Umum Partai Nasdem Surya Paloh tidak datang ke Istana, Jakarta, pada Selasa (2/5/2023) malam. Padahal, semua ketum parpol yang pro terhadap pemerintah hadir.

Mereka adalah Ketum PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri, Ketum Gerindra Prabowo Subianto, Ketum Golkar Airlangga Hartarto, Ketum Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar, Ketum Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, dan Plt Ketum Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) Mardiono.

Pertemuan di Istana dimulai pukul 19.00 WIB. Pertemuan berlangsung selama sekitar dua jam.

Ini merupakan kali kedua Nasdem tak hadir dalam pertemuan ketum parpol koalisi pemerintah bersama Jokowi

Adapun pertemuan pertama yang dimaksud adalah ketika Jokowi bertemu dengan ketum parpol koalisi pemerintahan di markas PAN pada Minggu (2/4/2023) lalu.

PPP bilang Nasdem memang tak diajak

Ketua Majelis Pertimbangan Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) Romahurmuziy atau Rommy mengatakan, Surya Paloh tidak ikut ke dalam pertemuan antara ketum parpol koalisi pemerintah dan Jokowi. Rommy menyebut pertemuan itu tidak diikuti oleh Nasdem.

"Betul. Seluruh ketua umum koalisi pemerintahan, kecuali Nasdem, rencananya bertemu Pak Jokowi malam ini di Istana," ujar Rommy saat dimintai konfirmasi, Selasa (2/5/2023).

Rommy menegaskan, Surya Paloh memang tidak diundang dalam pertemuan dengan Jokowi.

Terlebih lagi, Surya Paloh sedang berada di luar negeri

Tak diajak karena dukung Anies?

Rommy mengatakan, Surya Paloh tidak diajak karena sudah mendukung eks Gubernur DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan menjadi bakal calon presiden Pemilu 2024.

Adapun Anies diusung menjadi capres oleh Koalisi Perubahan untuk Persatuan (KPP) yang diisi Nasdem, Demokrat, dan PKS.

"Ini Nasdem kan sudah memutuskan sikapnya mengusung ABW (Anies Baswedan)," ujar Rommy.

Rommy mengatakan, pertemuan dengan Jokowi itu berkaitan dengan rencana formasi politik ke depan. Sehingga, Surya Paloh yang telah mendukung Anies tidak diundang bertemu dengan Jokowi.

"Tentu (tidak diajak) karena salah satu materinya adalah rencana formasi politik ke depan," ucapnya.

Nasdem pertanyakan apa salahnya dukung Anies

Wakil Ketua Umum Partai Nasdem Ahmad Ali mempertanyakan apa yang salah dengan Anies Baswedan sehingga Nasdem tidak diajak ke pertemuan ketum parpol koalisi pemerintahan dengan Jokowi.

Ali bingung alasan mereka tidak mengundang Nasdem yang telah mengusung Anies bersama Demokrat dan PKS. Namun, dia mengatakan, Nasdem tidak diundang karena Anies hanya penafsiran Rommy.

"Pertanyaan saya, memang Anies ini kenapa? Apa masalah bagi mereka tentang Nasdem untuk mengusung Anies?" ujar Ali saat dihubungi, Selasa (2/5/2023).

Ali menjelaskan, Anies merupakan putra Indonesia dan salah satu kader terbaik yang dimiliki oleh bangsa.

Selain itu, kata dia, Anies memenuhi syarat untuk memenuhi syarat sebagai capres.

"Ini kan kedaulatan partai. Jadi kalau alasannya karena usung Anies ya biarlah masyarakat yang menilai itu," tuturnya.

Nasdem tegaskan tetap dukung pemerintah

Sementara itu, Ali menekankan Nasdem memiliki tanggung jawab untuk mendukung pemerintah sampai masa kepemimpinan Jokowi berakhir.

Pasalnya, Nasdem masuk dalam partai yang ikut mengusung Jokowi sejak awal, bukan baru masuk ke pemerintahan seperti Gerindra dan PAN.

"Kita tetap memiliki tanggung jawab untuk kawal pemerintah ini sampai selesai. Beda dengan teman-teman yang baru bergabung kan," ucap Ali.

Ali mengatakan, Nasdem tidak kecewa karena tidak diundang dalam pertemuan dengan Jokowi itu.

Dia menyebut Nasdem tetap berpikir positif karena mungkin saja ada hal lain yang perlu mereka bicarakan.

"Ya pastinya bagi kita, kita selalu berpikir positif bahwa apa pun, Nasdem diundang kehadiran atau tidak. Jadi bagi saya melihat pertemuan pastilah baik, pasti bertujuan baik. Dan apa pun yang dibicarakan pasti baik untuk bangsa," imbuh Ali.
