WHY CAN THE NU AND MUHAMMADIYAH HILAL BE DIFFERENT?

Why can the start of fasting and the time of Eid be different for Muslims? The answer is because there are several factors that cause it. Are as follows :
First, some scholars use the concept of one Mathla', namely if a country anywhere has seen the new moon, then the others just have to follow.
While other scholars use the stipulation of many mathla', namely each country uses its own new moon.
Second, some scholars say that to determine the new moon, it is sufficient to calculate the science of reckoning. Meanwhile, other scholars argue that reckoning is only a tool, not a determinant. To determine the entry of the beginning of the month, it must be by direct rukyat.
Third, there is the concept of rukyatul hilal, imkanun rukyatul hilal and rukyatul hilal. What else is that?
Rukyatul hilal means, the hilal must be visible physically. If for some reason such as natural phenomena such as clouds etc. then the month count is completed by 30 days.
While imkanun rukyatul hilal is the determination where the new moon is reckoning possible to be seen if the conditions are normal, the criteria themselves change. For now, Indonesia has set a minimum 3 degrees for the new moon and 6.4 degrees for elongation. So even if it is not then visible, a new moon can be set. Meanwhile, the hilal rukyatul is actually almost similar to the rukyatul hilal imkanun. The only difference is, in the concept of hilal, if the hilal is already above the horizon at sunset, no matter how high it is (even if it's only 0.1 degrees), then the next day is a new moon.
In terms of mass organizations, NU holds the opinion of imkanur rukyatul hilal, while Muhammadiyah uses the rukyatul hilal. So, actually the difference between NU and Muhammadiyah is not a matter of rukyah and reckoning anymore, but about differences in criteria or standards for the height of the new moon.
Fourth, the difference is also caused by those who follow the government and those who don't.
Those who follow, because they see that the position of the government as a judge. Whichever method is used by the government, be it wihdatul mathali', ikhtilaful mathali', rukyatul hilal, imakun rukyatul hilal, or BARU hilal etc. That's what followed. Based on the principle "the judge's decision raises the difference."
Thus, those who follow the government actually follow different methods. Not all of them, according to NU, namely Imkanun rukyatul Hilal. It's just united by the principle: Join the Government.
Whereas those who do not follow view that today's government does not meet the requirements as a judge who must be followed in matters of determining the beginning of the month.
Especially for Eid al-Adha, it is added that there are differences of opinion, whether the existing sightings must be based on the new moon in Mecca or not.

Thus a bit of explanation about this problem. Please each of us follow what is most believed. Do not continue to exaggerate, because there are still many problems of the people that are more urgent to be resolved. Moreover, feel themselves and their group is the most righteous. We must be aware, there is wisdom behind why Allah determines our fasting and holidays through the small and "difficult" new moon.
If Allah ta'ala did not want wisdom, He would have made the full moon the first determinant of fasting and Islamic holidays. What's hard for him?
For those of you who have just heard the terms, they are already frowning, they are done with noisy hobbies, polemics and debates on religious issues. Focus on improving by listening and learning a lot. Just follow any scholar who determines the beginning of the month based on the presence of the new moon, not the tides. Especially through the "sky remote" method. And pray that a great leader of the Muslims will soon be born who can unite the Muslims again, because the rules say:
حكم الحاكم يرفع الخلاف
"The decision of the judge (leader) will eliminate the difference that occurred."

KENAPA SIH BISA BEDA HILAL NU DAN MUHAMADIYYAH?

Mengapa awal puasa dan saat berhari raya umat Islam bisa berbeda waktunya ? Jawabnya karena ada beberapa faktor penyebabnya. Diantaranya adalah sebagai berikut :
Pertama, sebagian ulama menggunakan konsep satu Mathla', yakni jika suatu negeri di manapun telah melihat hilal, maka yang lain tinggal mengikuti.
Sedangkan ulama lainnya menggunakan ketetapan banyak mathla', yaitu setiap negeri menggunakan hilalnya sendiri-sendiri.
Kedua, sebagian ulama menyatakan untuk menentukan hilal, cukup dengan perhitungan ilmu hisab. Sedangkan ulama yang lain berpendapat, hisab hanya sebagai alat pembantu, bukan penentu. Untuk menetapkan masuknya awal bulan, harus dengan rukyat langsung.
Ketiga, adanya konsep rukyatul hilal, imkanun rukyatul hilal dan wujudul hilal. Apa lagi itu ?
Rukyatul hilal artinya, hilal harus bisa terlihat secara dzahir. Jika karena sebab tertentu semisal fenomena alam seperti mendung dll. maka hitungan bulan digenapkan 30 hari.
Sedangkan imkanun rukyatul hilal adalah penetapan di mana hilal secara hisab dimungkinkan untuk bisa dilihat jika kondisinya normal, kriteria sendiri berubah-ubah.
Untuk sekarang Indonesia menetapkan hilal minimal 3 derajat dan elongasi 6,4 derajat. Maka meski kemudian tidak terlihat, bulan baru bisa ditetapkan.
Sedangkan wujudul hilal, sebenarnya hampir mirip dengan imkanun rukyatul hilal. Hanya perbedaannya, dalam konsep wujudul hilal, jika hilal sudah berada di atas ufuk pada saat matahari terbenam, seberapa pun tingginya (meskipun hanya 0,1 derajat), maka esoknya adalah bulan baru.
Secara ormas, NU memegang pendapat imkanun rukyatul hilal, sedangkan Muhamadiyah menggunakan wujudul hilal.
Jadi, sebenarnya perbedaan NU dan Muhamadiyah itu bukan masalah rukyat dan hisab lagi, tapi tentang perbedaan kriteria atau standar tinggi hilal.
Keempat, perbedaan juga disebabkan adanya yang mengikuti pemerintah dengan yang tidak mengikuti.
Kalangan yang mengikuti, karena memandang bahwa pemerintah posisinya sebagai hakim. Yang manapun metode yang dipakai pemerintah, mau wihdatul mathali', ikhtilaful mathali', rukyatul hilal, imakun rukyatul hilal, atau wujudul hilal dll. Itu yang diikuti. Berdasarkan kaidah "keputusan hakim mengangkat perbedaan."
Sehingga, yang mengikuti pemerintah itu sebenarnya mengikuti metode yang berbeda-beda. Tidak semuanya, ala NU, yakni Imkanun rukyatul Hilal.
Hanya saja disatukan oleh kaidah : Ikut Pemerintah.
Sedangkan yang tidak mengikuti memandang bahwa pemerintah hari ini tidak memenuhi syarat sebagai hakim yang wajib diikuti dalam masalah penentuan awal bulan.
Khusus untuk Idul Adha ditambah lagi dengan adanya perbedaan pendapat, apakah rukyat yang ada harus menginduk kepada hilal di Makkah atau tidak ...

Demikian sekelumit penjelasan tentang masalah ini. Silahkan masing-masing kita mengikuti yang paling diyakini. Jangan terus dibesar-besarkan, karena masih banyak masalah umat yang lebih urgen untuk diselesaikan. Apalagi merasa diri dan kelompoknya yang paling benar.
Kita harus sadar, ada hikmah dibalik mengapa Allah menentukan puasa dan hari raya kita lewat adanya hilal yang kecil dan "sulit" itu.
Seandainya Allah ta'ala tidak menghendaki adanya hikmah, tentu Dia akan menjadikan bulan purnama sebagai penentu awal puasa dan hari raya umat Islam. Apa susahnya bagiNya ?
Bagi antum yang baru dengar istilah-istilahnya saja sudah pada mengernyitkan dahi, sudahi hobi ribut, berpolemik dan debat masalah agama. Focus berbenah dengan banyak mendengar dan belajar.
Ikuti saja ulama manapun yang menentukan awal bulan berdasarkan keberadaan hilal, bukan pasang surut air laut. Apalagi lewat metode " remot langit".
Dan berdoalah semoga lekas lahir pemimpin agung kaum muslimin yang bisa menyatukan umat Islam kembali, karena kaidah mengatakan :
حكم الحاكم يرفع الخلاف
"Keputusan hakim (pemimpin) akan menghilangkan perbedaan yang terjadi."
