The BUMN CEO's gun explodes at the airport, Erick Thohir: Do you want to meet people with a gun?
Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir spoke out about a BUMN main director carrying a firearm (senpi) at Sultan Hasanudin Airport, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The gun belonging to the BUMN president director exploded while passing the inspection.
Related to this, Erick admitted, his party would first study the findings in the field regarding this matter.
"I have to study it first because there is no written report yet. But, if I as a minister don't carry a gun, do we come to the people to frighten them? No, we shouldn't. We have to serve the people," said Erick in Jakarta, Wednesday (19/19) 4/2023), as reported by Wartakotalive .com.
Erick said he would sanction those concerned.
"Surely, (there are strict sanctions), if there's black on white. The minister doesn't even carry a gun, why don't you want to meet the people with a gun? You have to serve the people when you meet. If you have a water gun, you can make fun of it, so it's fresh," said he,

According to Erick, the BUMN president director should not carry a firearm because he, who is a minister, has never carried a gun.
"It shouldn't be allowed. As a minister, I have never carried a gun," he said.
As reported, the gun belonging to the Main Director (Director) of BUMN PT Berdikari, Harry Warganegara, exploded while in the check-in area of Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Maros, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi).
The incident occurred when the Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar International Airport staff checked luggage for check-in at Counter 16 Citilink on Monday (17/4/2023). However, there were no casualties in the incident.
The Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Komang Suartana, confirmed the incident. He said the gun exploded when Harry Warganegara's aide was emptying the ammunition.
"Because I wanted to discharge the weapon. Maybe when I wanted to take the card, the weapon would release and fall into the trigger," Komang told media crew when confirmed, Wednesday (19/4/2023) afternoon.

Menteri Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Erick Thohir angkat suara mengenai seorang direktur utama BUMN yang membawa senjata api (senpi) di Bandara Sultan Hasanudin, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Senpi milik dirut BUMN itu meletus saat melewati pemeriksaan.
Terkait hal tersebut, Erick mengaku, pihaknya akan mempelajari terlebih dahulu temuan di lapangan mengenai hal tersebut.
"Saya harus pelajari dulu karena belum ada laporan tertulis. Tapi, kalau saya sebagai menteri enggak bawa pistol, memang kita datang ke rakyat mau nakut-nakutin? Enggaklah. Kita harusnya mesti melayani rakyat dong," ucap Erick di Jakarta, Rabu (19/4/2023), seperti dilansir Wartakotalive .com.
Erick mengatakan, dirinya akan memberikan sanksi kepada yang bersangkutan.
"Pasti dong (ada sanksi tegas), kalau sudah ada hitam di atas putihnya. Menterinya saja enggak bawa pistol, masa mau ketemu rakyat bawa pistol? Ketemu rakyat harus melayani. Kalau pistol air boleh kali buat lucu-lucuan, biar segar," kata dia,
Menurut Erick, seharusnya dirut BUMN tidak membawa senjata api karena dirinya yang seorang menteri saja tidak pernah membawa pistol.
"Mestinya enggak boleh. Saya sebagai menteri enggak pernah bawa pistol," ujarnya.
Seperti diberitakan, pistol milik Direktur Utama (Dirut) BUMN PT Berdikari, Harry Warganegara, meletus saat berada di area check-in Bandara Internasional Sultan Hasanuddin, Maros, Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel).
Insiden itu terjadi saat pihak petugas Bandara Internasional Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar melakukan pengecekan barang bawaan untuk check-in di Counter 16 Citilink pada Senin (17/4/2023). Namun, tidak ada korban jiwa dalam insiden tersebut.
Kabid Humas Polda Sulsel Kombes Komang Suartana membenarkan perihal kejadian itu. Dia mengatakan, pistol itu meledak kala ajudan Harry Warganegara sedang melakukan pengosongan amunisi senjata.
"Karena mau melakukan pengosongan senjata. Mungkin saat itu mau mengambil kartunya senjata itu mau lepas dan jatuh masuk pelatuknya," kata Komang kepada awak media saat dikonfirmasi, Rabu (19/4/2023) siang.
