Iman Mahlil Lubis Becomes Fraud Suspect QRIS Paste Mode Mosque Charity Box

M Iman Mahlil Lubis has been named a suspect in a fraud case with the modus operandi of pasting "fake" or unofficial QRIS in charity boxes at mosques in the DKI Jakarta area. 

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Auliansyah Lubis explained, Iman Mahlil was charged with multiple articles related to fraud and Electronic Transaction Information (ITE). 

"Article 28 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 45a paragraph 1 and/or Article 35 in conjunction with 51 paragraph 1 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE," said Auliansyah to journalists, Tuesday (11/4/2023). 

Apart from that, Iman Mahlil was also charged with an article in Law (UU) Number 3 of 2011 concerning Fund Transfers. 

"Then Article 80 and/or Article 83 of Law Number 3 of 2011 concerning Fund Transfers and/or Article 378 of the Criminal Code," said Auliansyah. 

For your information, fraudulent acts by pasting "fake" QRIS barcodes in mosque charity boxes have occurred in the Jakarta area. 

The perpetrators targeted victims who wanted to give alms or charity during Ramadan through digital services. 

This case was caught by the police after the CCTV camera footage recording the fraudster's actions was widely circulated on social media. 

From there, the police finally moved to investigate and found out that the incident had occurred in a number of mosques in the South Jakarta area. 

Based on the results of the interim investigation, the perpetrators acted by replacing the barcode on the mosque's charity box by attaching another barcode sticker. 

The money donated by residents by means of transfers ends up going into the perpetrator's digital wallet or account, instead of being channeled to the manager of the place of worship. 

From these series of investigations, the police finally arrested Iman Mahlil in the Kebayoran Lama area, South Jakarta on Tuesday (11/4/2023) morning. 


Iman Mahlil Lubis Jadi Tersangka Penipuan dengan Modus Tempel QRIS di Kotak Amal Masjid

M Iman Mahlil Lubis ditetapkan sebagai tersangka kasus penipuan dengan modus operandi menempelkan QRIS “palsu” atau tidak resmi di kotak amal masjid-masjid di wilayah DKI Jakarta. 

Direktur Reserse Kriminal Khusus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Auliansyah Lubis menjelaskan, Iman Mahlil dijerat pasal berlapis terkait penipuan dan Informasi Transaksi Elektronik (ITE). 

“Pasal 28 ayat 1 jo Pasal 45a ayat 1 dan/atau Pasal 35 juncto 51 ayat 1 Undang-Undang Nomor 19 Tahun 2016 tentang ITE,” kata Auliansyah kepada wartawan, Selasa (11/4/2023). 

Selain itu, Iman Mahlil juga dijerat pasal dalam Undang-Undang (UU) Nomor 3 Tahun 2011 tentang Transfer Dana. 

“Kemudian Pasal 80 dan/atau Pasal 83 Undang-Undang Nomor 3 Tahun 2011 tentang Transfer Dana dan/atau Pasal 378 KUHP,” kata Auliansyah. 

Sekadar informasi, aksi penipuan dengan menempelkan barcode QRIS “palsu” di kotak amal masjid telah terjadi di wilayah Jakarta. 

Pelaku mengincar korban yang hendak bersedekah atau bersedekah selama Ramadhan melalui layanan digital. 

Kasus ini berhasil ditangkap polisi setelah rekaman kamera CCTV yang merekam aksi penipu tersebut beredar luas di media sosial. 

Dari situ, polisi akhirnya bergerak menyelidiki dan menemukan bahwa peristiwa itu terjadi di sejumlah masjid di kawasan Jakarta Selatan.

Berdasarkan hasil penyelidikan sementara, pelaku beraksi dengan mengganti barcode pada kotak amal masjid dengan menempelkan stiker barcode lagi. 

Uang yang disumbangkan warga dengan cara transfer akhirnya masuk ke dompet atau rekening digital pelaku, alih-alih disalurkan ke pengelola tempat ibadah. 

Dari rangkaian pemeriksaan tersebut, polisi akhirnya menangkap Iman Mahlil di kawasan Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan pada Selasa (11/4/2023) pagi.
