3 Xi Jinping's 'Crazy' Policies for Chinese-Style Religious Intervention Xi Jinping's 'madness' intervenes in religion to suit China's values. (MARK R. CRISTINO/Pool via REUTERS) -- Chinese President, Xi Jinping is again a hot topic of discussion for his intervention to change Chinese-style religion. Most recently, the Chinese government announced that it wanted to modify the holy book Al-Quran into a Chinese version that includes Confucian values. This draft change has been planned since 2018, targeting Xinjiang, the southwest region of China which is predominantly inhabited by Muslims. China is known as a country led by the communist party, blocking outside influence by asking domestic religious groups to obey and be loyal to the state. Quoted from VOA, the Chinese Communist Party has even started implementing restrictions and strengthening regulations on places of worship as a further step towards religious freedom since last August.
