Researchers Find Method to Increase Internet Speed Up to 4.5 million Times!
Researchers from Aston University, England discovered a new method that can increase broadband internet speeds to extraordinary figures. How could it not be, with this method they claim they can get speeds of up to 4.5 million times and of course successfully set a world record.

Aston University collaborated with the National Institute of Information and Communication Technology from Japan and also Nokia Bell Labs from the United States, they were able to record a data transfer speed of 301 million megabits per second (Mbps). Interestingly, this is achieved using standard fiber optic cables.
For information, the average broadband internet speed in the UK reaches 69.4 Mbps, while in the United States the average download speed is much faster, namely 242.4 Mbps.

Apart from that, the numbers achieved by the researchers are clearly still millions of times faster. How can they achieve it?
The researchers managed to achieve this achievement by utilizing a wavelength band that had never previously been used in traditional optical cable systems. The wavelength of this new band is equivalent to the color of light transmitted through an optical fiber.

Add Two Wavelength Bands

In his explanation, a researcher named Ian Phillips said that commercial optical cables usually only use C and L-bands. However, they added two new spectral band “bands” called E-Band and S-Band. This band is usually not needed because C and L are considered capable of providing the capacity to meet consumer needs.

Well, Aston University itself has succeeded in developing an optical amplifier that allows data to be transmitted on the E-Band and S-Band lines, which are said to be three times wider than other lines. Previously, no one had been able to make an amplifier to transmit these two wavelengths of data in a controlled way.
So I'm curious, when compared with broadband internet in Indonesia which has an average of 21 Mbps, the calculations mean that this figure will give an increase of 14.3 million times! Wow, what do you want to do with such a fast internet?
