- The Kaaba is a rectangular building covered with a black cloth or kiswah. The Kaaba is the direction facing every Muslim throughout the world when praying.
Then an interesting thing came, what objects were in the Kaaba?
Everyone can only guess. The information and stories are simply based on “he said, she said?”. However, no one is so sure, because of the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide, only a handful can enter the Kaaba.
Only the Kings of Saudi Arabia, the royal family and state officials can enter the Kaaba when it is washed and the cover is replaced.
Watch the Kaaba being washed
The Kaaba is washed twice a year, namely on the 15th of Sha`ban (the month before the month of fasting, Ramadan) and in the middle of Muharram, namely the month after Zulhijah when Muslims perform the fifth pillar of Islam to go on the Hajj.
The ritual of washing the Kaaba begins with two rak'ahs of sunnah prayer inside. While inside the Kaaba, the congregation can pray facing anywhere.
The inside is then cleaned with a white cloth soaked in rose water, a typical Arabic perfume with the scent of oud wood and a musk-scented perfume, namely deer gland oil. Zamzam water is sprinkled on the floor of the Kaaba and then the floor is mopped with bare hands and date palm leaves.
Former Minister of Religion Tarmizi Taher, who had the opportunity to enter the Kaaba 13 times, once said that the Kaaba's inner walls, roof, floor and three pillars were just like any other stone wall. "There are kettles and teapots in the Kaaba. They were gifts from kings, caliphs and sultans," he said.
The official Twitter account of the Grand Mosque or Kaaba revealed the latest photos containing the appearance of the inside of the Kaaba. It's like this... the inside of the Kaaba. Photo: @haramainarchive
The eastern side of the Kaaba is 14 meters high, while the western and southern sides are 12.11 meters high and the northern side is 11.28 meters high. The interior floor is covered with colored ceramics, while the roof is supported by three wooden pillars, each 44 cm in diameter.
The roof structure consists of two layers, upper and lower, while the inner walls are covered with screens made of green velvet which are replaced every three years.
At the top of the roof there is a ventilation with a length of 127 cm and a width of 104 cm to provide an opportunity for sunlight to enter. The vents are closed with reinforced glass which is opened during washing events.
Plated with pure gold
The Kaaba door is 225 cm above ground level, 310 cm high, 40 cm wide and 190 cm long, made of wood covered with 280 kg of pure gold On the western wall facing the Kaaba door are hung nine frames made of marble and inscribed with the names of the caliphs who have repaired and renewed the great Kaaba. All of them were written after the 6H Century.
The other side of the Kaaba is covered with white marble as high as two meters and above it is covered with a red curtain of silk cloth which has the words "Syahadatain" and Asma ul-Husna in the form of alternating Arabic numbers 8 or 7. The calligraphy was a gift from King Fahd.
Between the three pillars in the Kaaba there is a place to place items made of pure silver to store items, such as: teapots, kettles, displays, and other historical items made of gold and silver that are tens of years old or even hundreds of yearsThen.
These items were gifts from kings, caliphs and sultans.
