This country can be jailed for not fasting during Ramadan
Some Muslim-populated countries have imposed very strict laws during the holy month. There are even countries that apply sanctions for those who do not fast
Kuwait is one of the countries that has strict rules for its Muslim citizens during the month of Ramadan. Kuwait's Ministry of Interior issued a warning to citizens not to openly violate the law of fasting during the month of Ramadan.
Through the official X account of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior during Ramadan last year, this warning was shared. It is stated that residents who violate the rules of fasting in public during broad daylight will be punished. The punishment can be imprisonment for up to one month, or a fine of up to 100 dinars (around IDR 5 million), or a cash fine and a prison sentence.
Apart from Kuwait, Oman also implements strict rules against those who deliberately demonstrate not fasting during the day in public. According to Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Kingdom of Oman, anyone who openly eats or drinks during the day during Ramadan in a public place will be subject to imprisonment for a period of not less than 10 days and not more than three months.
