 - Google announced several new features to improve content recommendations when planning trips using Google Maps.

This time, when users search for a new city route, they'll see a list of recommendations for places to visit created by the Maps user community and top sites.
Launching Neowin, Friday (29/3/2024), Google Maps will also create a list of restaurants entitled Trending, Top and Hidden Gem based on public interest in the area.

“The Trending list is updated weekly with places that have recently experienced a surge in popularity on Maps. "This is ideal for helping you discover the latest trending places," Google wrote in its statement.

The Top List serves as a home for the Maps community's favorite places. Come here to find a favorite area that has long been famous in an area. Meanwhile, the Gems List is a collection of places that might be an alternative reference in places that are rarely visited.
The list consists of great restaurants that are still not well known. Starting this week, these lists will appear in more than 40 cities in the United States and Canada.

Google will start highlighting the best lists from its Maps community in the coming months. Talking about community-sourced content, Google recently said that it has cleaned up more than 170 million fake reviews created in Search and Maps by 2023.
The search giant has added a little more artificial intelligence to Maps and announced that its artificial intelligence shows a resume of important information when users search for places. Google's artificial intelligence identifies keys from the Maps community. Open a place in Maps and users will see photos and reviews summarizing what people love about it, like the famous tacos at a restaurant or the relaxed vibe at a bar.

Google is experimenting with a generative artificial intelligence feature that allows users to enter text to find new places to visit. Google also allows users to change the order of places they have added to a list and connects users' social content such as reviews to list items. These features will roll out globally for Android and iOS this month.
After changing the color scheme in Google Maps , the company is working on some other design changes like a cleaner homepage look with fewer tabs, and new pin colors.
