- The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revealed 3 modes of online fraud ahead of Ramadan, including some money suddenly entering the account.
OJK Chief Executive for Supervising the Behavior of Financial Services Businesses, Education and Consumer Protection, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said that there are indeed many methods of fraud ahead of fasting and Eid. The reason is that people's needs and desires increase at that moment.

Reporting from ANTARA, the woman who is familiarly called Kiki said the first method was illegal online lending (pinjol). Generally, illegal loans will use the method of sending money to the accounts of certain people, who have never actually applied for a loan.
He said complaints related to illegal lending were currently in the range of 1,400 cases. However, it is possible that the number of complaints will increase.
Kiki recommends that victims of this illegal lending method report to the bank and the Consumer Protection Portal Application (APPK). Apart from that, he appealed to victims to report to the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) so that it can be followed up immediately.
"After that, don't use it if you have never applied (for a loan). Then ask the bank to block the amount of funds, then block the debt collector who collects it and just ignore it," he added.
Apart from illegal borrowing, the second mode is offering certain packages at abnormal prices and discounts. He gave the example of an uproar in installment offers for tours, Umrah and other things whose costs were unreasonable.
Third, there will be many modes in the form of sending gifts or parcels. Kiki warned against fraud in the form of intercepting someone's important information.
"It also happens a lot during Ramadan that lots of people send parcels. We also see the possibility of people sending information via WhatsApp and so on for us to open an application, which is actually a kind of sniffing mode, an eavesdropping action by hackers using the internet network," he explained.
"The main goal is to steal our data, important data, such as usernames, m-banking passwords, credit card data, email passwords, etc. Be careful, don't just download any application and open it if you're not sure," concluded Kiki. .
To avoid being phished, never click on unclear links, whether via instant message, SMS or email, especially if you don't know the sender.
If you use a digital wallet or digital bank, identify the platform's official communication channels, whether telephone number, website, email or instant messaging account.
For payment applications, Kaspersky recommends turning on notifications so that users can quickly know when there is suspicious activity. Also turn on 2-layer authentication (two-factor authentication) to provide bonus protection for your account.
Never give your one-time password code or OTP to other people. If you really have to provide account access to a third party, make sure it is a party you can trust.
Lastly, when shopping online, avoid involving emotions so you don't get caught in online fraud. For example, discounts for certain celebrations are often held for a limited time.

- Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) mengungkapkan 3 modus penipuan online jelang Ramadan, termasuk adanya beberapa duit yang mendadak masuk ke rekening.
Kepala Eksekutif Pengawas Perilaku Pelaku Usaha Jasa Keuangan, Edukasi, serta Perlindungan Konsumen OJK Friderica Widyasari Dewi berkata memanglah banyak modus penipuan menjelang puasa serta lebaran. Alasannya, kebutuhan serta kemauan masyarakat bertambah di momen tersebut.
Modus Penipuan Jelang Bulan Ramadan
Melansir dari ANTARA, perempuan yang akrab disapa Kiki ini menyebut modus pertama ialah aksi pinjaman online (pinjol) ilegal. Umumnya, pinjol ilegal bakal memakai modus mengirim beberapa duit ke rekening orang tertentu, yang sesungguhnya tidak sempat mengajukan pinjaman.
Dia berkata pengaduan terpaut pinjol ilegal saat ini berada di kisaran 1.400 kasus. Tetapi, tidak menutup kemungkinan jumlah aduan tersebut bakal meningkat.
Kiki menganjurkan korban modus pinjol ilegal ini melapor kepada pihak bank serta Aplikasi Portal Perlindungan Konsumen (APPK). Selain itu, dia mengimbau korban supaya melapor ke Satuan Tugas Pemberantasan Aktivitas Keuangan Ilegal (Satgas PASTI) sehingga dapat ditindaklanjuti dengan segera.
"Setelah itu, jangan juga dipakai kalau gak pernah mengajukan( pinjaman). Terus meminta blokir sama bank buat jumlah dana tersebut, setelah itu blokir no debt collector yang menagih serta diabaikan saja," tambahnya.
Tidak hanya pinjol ilegal, modus kedua ialah penawaran paket tertentu dengan harga serta diskon yang tidak normal. Dia mencontohkan gempar penawaran cicilan perjalanan wisata, umrah, serta lain-lain yang biayanya tidak masuk akal.
Ketiga, bakal banyak modus berbentuk kiriman bingkisan ataupun parsel. Kiki mewanti-wanti penipuan berbentuk penyadapan informasi penting seseorang.
"Banyak pula terjadi di Ramadan banyak orang mengirim parsel. Ini kita melihat pula akan kemungkinan orang mengirim informasi via WhatsApp serta lain-lain buat kita membuka satu aplikasi, yang nyatanya semacam modus sniffing, aksi penyadapan oleh hacker memakai jaringan internet," jelasnya.
"Tujuan utamanya buat mencuri data kita, data penting, semacam username, password m- banking, data kartu kredit, password email, serta lain-lain. Hati-hati deh jangan sembarang mengunduh aplikasi serta sembarang membuka jika kita tidak yakin," tutup Kiki.
Supaya tidak terkena phishing, jangan sempat mengeklik tautan yang tidak jelas, baik lewat pesan instan, SMS ataupun email, lebih-lebih bila tidak tahu dengan pengirim.
Bila memakai dompet digital ataupun bank digital, kenali saluran komunikasi resmi platform tersebut, apakah no telepon, web, email ataupun akun pesan instan.
Buat aplikasi pembayaran, Kaspersky menganjurkan menyalakan notifikasi supaya pengguna dapat lekas tahu ketika ada kegiatan yang mencurigakan. Nyalakan pula autentikasi 2 lapis (two-factor authentication) buat berikan proteksi bonus pada akun.
Jangan pernah memberikan kode one- time password ataupun OTP kepada orang lain. Bila betul-betul wajib memberikan akses akun ke pihak ketiga, pastikan dia merupakan pihak yang dapat dipercaya.
Terakhir, saat berbelanja online, jauhi melibatkan emosi biar tidak terjebak penipuan online. Misalnya, diskon buat perayaan tertentu kerapkali diadakan dalam waktu yang terbatas.
Senantiasa berpikir 2 kali pada saat berbelanja online buat menjauhi resiko penipuan.
