Huawei is getting fiercer, preparing new 'weapons' in 2024
- Huawei is preparing a surprise for the upcoming 2024. This was announced by the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu Cheng, at the company's annual fan club event last weekend.
He said Huawei would launch products that would 'break the market', aka disruptive, next year. It is claimed that this product will record new history in the technology industry. "Next year's products will lead innovation and disruption," said Richard, quoted from Yahoo Finance, Tuesday (12/12/2023). This announcement was made several months after Huawei received a strong rebuke from the US after launching the controversial Mate 60 series. The US considers that the 5G network support on the cellphone uses advanced US chips illegally.
Richard did not provide further details about the products which he claimed would be classy. Huawei also did not provide an official response to this claim. Apart from disruptive products, Richard also announced that Huawei will launch applications and products based on HarmonyOS software which were developed independently.
The success of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro has brought a breath of fresh air to China's technology industry. Other manufacturers are motivated to develop local technology and get rid of dependence on the US.
Two months after its launch, the Huawei Mate 60 Series has sold 2.4 million units, according to data from research firm Counterpoint. According to Canalys, sales of the Mate 60 Pro will reach 2.5 million units on November 7, 2023.
