Musicians who reportedly refused to perform in Israel, some have canceled their concerts twice

1. Taylor Swift

Since its launch in March 2023, "The Eras Tour" concert has broken records as it covers 151 destinations on five continents. The 33-year-old pop star continues to add dates and locations to the list, but it doesn't include Israel. The singer has never held a concert there.
2. Roger Waters

In March, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters asked fellow musicians not to perform in Israel. The 80-year-old is a member of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement which urges artists not to tour the country unless they change their stance on Palestine.
“I am not an antisemite. BDS's task is to empower the Palestinian people. "For me, the struggle of my oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine is more important than the needs of my music fans in Israel," he said.
3. Beyoncé

In 2015, Beyoncé canceled two concerts in Israel. According to a statement from Israeli production company Bluestone Group, the singer chose to complete his tour as planned.
“In the announcement we received from the singer's representatives, they decided not to extend the tour and completed it as scheduled. "The singer will not reach the region, including Israel," a Bluestone spokesperson said.
4. Lorde

In 2017, a full-page ad was taken out criticizing singer Lorde after she canceled a concert in Tel Aviv. Financed by The World Values Network, the ads branded the singer-songwriter as a bigot.
The group also highlighted Lorde's decision to leave the show in Israel but continue to perform in Russia. He reportedly canceled the show after speaking with two BDS activists on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.
“I have spoken to many people about this and considered all the options. "Thank you for educating me, I'm learning all the time too," said Lorde.
5. Lana Del Rey

In 2018, Lana Del Rey postponed her planned appearance at Israel's Meteor festival indefinitely due to fan uproar. The 38-year-old woman initially defended her decision to appear at the concert, saying performing in Tel Aviv was not a political statement or commitment to politics there.
“I did the best I could and my intentions were better than most people,” he said.
However, after choosing to cancel the concert, Del Rey said on Twitter "It is important for me to perform in Palestine and Israel and treat all my fans equally". He hopes to perform for Israeli and Palestinian fans one day.
6. Coldplay

In 2017, Coldplay denied claims that they were planning to perform in Israel after rumors that singer Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland were visiting Israel and the West Bank to see tour venues. “We are in Israel and Palestine to listen and learn that's all. There were no concerts scheduled, we just went on an interesting and enlightening trip to learn about the area,” said Martin.

3. Beyonce

Pada 2015, Beyonce membatalkan dua konsernya di Israel. Menurut pernyataan dari perusahaan produksi Israel Bluestone Group, penyanyi tersebut memilih untuk menyelesaikan turnya sesuai rencana.
“Dalam pengumuman yang kami terima dari perwakilan penyanyi, mereka memutuskan untuk tidak memperpanjang tur dan menyelesaikannya sesuai jadwal. Penyanyi itu tidak akan menjangkau wilayah tersebut, termasuk Israel,” kata kata juru bicara Bluestone.

Wanita berusia 38 tahun ini awalnya membela keputusannya untuk tampil di konser tersebut dengan mengatakan tampil di Tel Aviv bukanlah sebuah pernyataan politik atau komitmen terhadap politik di sana.
“Saya melakukan yang terbaik yang saya bisa dan niat saya lebih baik dari kebanyakan orang,” ucapnya.
Namun, setelah memilih untuk membatalkan konser tersebut, Del Rey berkata di Twitter "Penting bagi saya untuk tampil di Palestina dan Israel dan memperlakukan semua penggemar saya secara setara". Dia berharap bisa tampil untuk penggemar Israel dan Palestina suatu hari nanti.
