JAKARTA - As a developed country, Israel has a number of sophisticated and deadly weapons. One of them is the D9R armored bulldozer nicknamed Doobi or Teddy Bear.
It is claimed that Teddy Bear will be the key to the success of Israel's attack to conquer Hamas fighters in Gaza. In urban ground combat against Hamas fighters, Israeli troops will face narrow roads, tunnels, landmines, snipers and other traps.
Because of this, Teddy Bear was relied upon to open the way for the 300 tanks and 173,000 Israeli soldiers who gathered at the border. If fighting breaks out, Israeli-modified Caterpillar bulldozers will be used to detonate mines and tear down obstacles ahead. With the addition of 15 tons of armor, the D9R aka Teddy Bear is almost immune to firearms or explosives such as mines.
Reporting from the Daily Mail, Saturday (14/10/2023), the Israeli Teddy Bear was operated by two crew members in a cockpit protected by bulletproof glass, so it was safe from sniper and machine gun fire.
In 2015, the Israeli Teddy Bear D9R was modernized with slat armor to provide more protection against the rocket-propellant grenades (RPGs) widely used by Hamas fighters.
Slat armor or bar coating works by allowing the sensitive explosive tip of the rocket to pass through before damaging the explosive body so that it does not detonate or is less effective.
With a length of 8 meters x a height of 4 meters x a width of 4.5 meters and a weight of 62 tons, the D9R is able to cross any obstacle in front of it. The D9R dozer is powered by a Cat 3408C engine capable of producing 405 horsepower and towing more than 70 tons of load.
These machines not only help bulldozers traverse obstacles, but also enable various infrastructure support roles such as digging trenches and building bridges or defensive structures.
Israeli Teddy Bears are also equipped with machine guns, grenade launchers, or smoke projectors for additional combat capabilities. In 2018, Israel also began operating the D9R Panda, a remotely operated version of the bulldozer.

Teddy Bear diklaim akan menjadi kunci keberhasilan serangan Israel untuk menaklukkan para pejuang Hamas di Gaza. Dalam pertempuran darat di perkotaan melawan pejuang Hamas, pasukan Israel akan menghadapi medan jalan sempit, terowongan, ranjau darat, penembak jitu serta perangkap lain.
Lantaran itu Teddy Bear sangat diandalkan untuk membuka jalan bagi 300 tank dan 173.000 prajurit Israel yang berkumpul di perbatasan. Jika terjadi pertempuran, buldoser Caterpillar yang dimodifikasi oleh Israel akan digunakan untuk meledakkan ranjau serta meruntuhkan rintangan di depan. Dengan penambahan lapisan baja seberat 15 ton, D9R alias Teddy Bear nyaris kebal senjata api atau bahan peledak seperti ranjau.
Dilansir dari Daily Mail, Sabtu (14/10/2023), Teddy Bear Israel diperasionalkan oleh dua kru di kokpit yang dilindungi kaca anti-peluru, sehingga aman dari tembakan sniper dan senapan mesin.
Pada tahun 2015, Teddy Bear Israel D9R dimodernisasi dengan slat armor untuk memberikan perlindungan lebih terhadap granat-propelan roket (RPG) yang banyak digunakan oleh para pejuang Hamas .
Slat armor atau lapisan batang bekerja dengan memungkinkan ujung peledak sensitif dari roket melewati sebelum merusak badan peledak sehingga tidak meledak atau kurang efektif.
Dengan panjang 8 meter x tinggi 4 meter x lebar 4,5 meter dan berat 62 ton, D9R mampu melintasi hambatan apapun di depannya. Dozer D9R ditenagai oleh mesin Cat 3408C yang mampu menghasilkan daya 405 daya kuda dan menarik lebih dari 70 ton beban.
Mesin ini tidak hanya membantu buldoser melintasi rintangan, tetapi juga memungkinkan berbagai peran dukungan infrastruktur seperti menggali parit dan membangun jembatan atau struktur pertahanan.
Teddy Bear Israel juga dilengkapi dengan senjata mesin, peluncur granat, atau proyektor asap untuk kemampuan tempur tambahan. Pada tahun 2018, Israel juga mulai mengoperasikan D9R Panda, versi buldoser yang dapat dioperasikan dari jarak jauh.
