Sri Mulyani Reveals Prabowo's Office Spending Translucent Rp. 21.5 Trillion
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati explained that the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) goods spending took the largest portion. The ministry led by Prabowo Subianto spent up to IDR 21.5 trillion for the first semester of 2023.
"As for spending on goods, this was what the President said at a cabinet meeting, IDR 147.4 trillion in spending, up 2%. If we look at the most dominant component of spending on goods, it is at the Ministry of Defense, Rp. 21.5 trillion," said Sri Mulyani in a working meeting (raker) with the DPR RI Budget Agency, Monday (10/7).
The IDR 21.5 trillion funds, according to Sri Mulyani, are used among others for the maintenance, maintenance, improvement of the land, sea and air dimensions, as well as for the needs of the Defense System Main Equipment (Alutsista).

"What has been said is that many buy defense system equipment, the consequence is that spending on goods will increase in the following years because each piece of equipment must always be maintained," said Sri Mulyani.
Apart from the Ministry of Defence, a large portion of the budget is also spent on the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of IDR 14.9 trillion. The funds are used for maintenance and maintenance of natural resource (SDA) infrastructure, provision of access to livable houses, disaster emergency response, and preservation of national roads.
Apart from that, much spending was also done at the National Police, reaching IDR 13.6 trillion. The funds are used to procure equipment, logistical support, and health services.
Then, there is also the Ministry of Trade which uses state funds of up to IDR 12.2 trillion to distribute boss funds. Then the General Election Commission (KPU) spending budget reached IDR 7.4 trillion for the establishment of an Ad-Hoc body.
As additional information, previously President Jokowi had warned a number of ministries and institutions (K/L) to use the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). Starting from the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), to the Attorney General's Office.
This is done because the four agencies spend a lot of state money to buy goods that are of less than optimal benefit to the community. There is a budget of around IDR 29.7 trillion that Jokowi is questioning which was used for goods spending from the Ministry of Defense to the Attorney General's Office.
"This is the most important thing that I need to emphasize carefully for the purchase of goods. This is for the Ministry of Defense, Police, BIN and the Attorney General's Office. Because I see the figure is quite large, IDR 29.7 (trillion)," said Jokowi in the Plenary Cabinet Session , at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2023).
