Drawing for the 2023 U17 World Cup: Indonesia enters Pot 1 with Brazil and two former champions
Indonesia is in pot 1 for the 2023 U17 World Cup draw. Pot 1 is also occupied by Brazil and two former champions, France and Mexico.
Indonesia has been officially appointed by FIFA as the host for the 2023 U17 World Cup replacing Peru.
If carried out according to the original schedule, the 2023 Indonesia U17 World Cup will be held from November 10 to December 2.
The list of 24 teams participating in the 2023 U17 World Cup is complete following the completion of the 2023 U17 Asian Cup which will be held in Thailand.
The four semifinalists of the 2023 U17 Asian Cup namely Japan, South Korea, Iran and Uzbekistan will accompany Indonesia to qualify for the 2023 U17 World Cup through the host route.
Indonesia enters pot 1
For the 2023 U17 World Cup draw, Indonesia as the host is certain to enter pot 1.
Besides Indonesia, the other five teams that entered pot 1 were Brazil, France, Mexico, Spain and Japan.
Brazil is the defending champion and the second most successful team in the history of the U17 World Cup which was held in 1985.
Brazil has recorded four U17 World Cup titles including the last title in 2019 which they won at home.
Brazil's collection of titles only lost to Nigeria, who became the king of the U17 World Cup with five titles.
Meanwhile, France and Mexico are two former U17 World Cup champions. France was the champion of the 2001 edition, while Mexico was the champion of the 2005 and 2011 editions.
As for the preliminary round for the 2023 U17 World Cup, the 24 participating teams who have been divided into four pots will be drawn into six groups with four teams in each group.
Each group will be filled with team representatives from pots 1, 2, 3 and 4. Indonesia (pot 1) as the host will certainly enter Group A.

U17 World Cup 2023 draw schedule
This year's tournament in Indonesia will be the 19th edition of the U17 World Cup which was first held in 1985.
PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir said that the draw for the 2023 U17 World Cup group phase would be held in Jakarta in August.
"Later, maybe the drawing will be in August. The drawing will be in Jakarta," said Erick Thohir, Saturday (24/6/2023).
Of the 24 teams participating in the 2023 U17 World Cup, Indonesia is the only debutant.
Regarding the experience of appearing in the U17 World Cup, Indonesia even lost to a small country in the Pacific Ocean, New Caledonia.
The member state of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has experienced the atmosphere of the U17 World Cup in the 2017 edition.
Apart from New Caledonia, the teams that will appear for the second time at the U17 World Cup are Morocco, Senegal and Venezuela.
Drawing Piala Dunia U17 2023: Indonesia Masuk Pot 1 bersama Brasil dan Dua Mantan Juara
Indonesia masuk pot 1 untuk drawing atau undian Piala Dunia U17 2023. Pot 1 juga dihuni oleh Brasil serta dua mantan juara, Perancis dan Meksiko.

Adapun daftar 24 tim peserta Piala Dunia U17 2023 telah lengkap menyusul rampungnya Piala Asia U17 2023 yang diselenggarakan di Thailand.
Empat semifinalis Piala Asia U17 2023 yakni Jepang, Korea Selatan, Iran, dan Uzbekistan akan menemani Indonesia yang lolos ke Piala Dunia U17 2023 melalui jalur tuan rumah.
Indonesia masuk pot 1
Untuk drawing Piala Dunia U17 2023, Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah dipastikan masuk pot 1.
Selain Indonesia, lima tim lain yang masuk pot 1 adalah Brasil, Perancis, Meksiko, Spanyol, dan Jepang.
Brasil adalah juara bertahan sekaligus tim tersukses kedua dalam sejarah Piala Dunia U17 yang mulai digelar pada 1985.
Brasil tercatat mengoleksi empat gelar Piala Dunia U17 termasuk gelar terakhir pada 2019 yang mereka raih di rumah sendiri.
Koleksi gelar Brasil hanya kalah dari Nigeria yang menjadi raja Piala Dunia U17 dengan lima titel.
Sementara itu, Perancis dan Meksiko adalah dua mantan juara Piala Dunia U17. Perancis merupakan kampiun edisi 2001, sedangkan Meksiko jawara edisi 2005 dan 2011.
Adapun untuk babak penyisihan Piala Dunia U17 2023, ke-24 tim peserta yang sudah dibagi menjadi empat pot akan diundi menjadi enam grup dengan masing-masing grup dihuni empat tim.

Jadwal drawing Piala Dunia U17 2023
Turnamen di Indonesia tahun ini akan menjadi edisi ke-19 dari Piala Dunia U17 yang kali pertama diselenggarakan pada 1985.
Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir menyampaikan bahwa drawing fase grup Piala Dunia U17 2023 akan dilaksanakan di Jakarta pada Agustus mendatang.
"Nanti mungkin drawing di bulan Agustus. Drawing akan di Jakarta," kata Erick Thohir, Sabtu (24/6/2023).
Dari 24 tim peserta Piala Dunia U17 2023, Indonesia menjadi satu-satunya debutan.
Soal pengalaman tampil di Piala Dunia U17, Indonesia bahkan kalah dari negara kecil di Samudera Pasifik, Kaledonia Baru.
Negara anggota Konfederasi Sepak Bola Oseania (OFC) itu pernah merasakan atmosfer Piala Dunia U17 pada edisi 2017 silam.
Selain Kaledonia Baru, tim yang akan tampil untuk kali kedua di Piala Dunia U17 adalah Maroko, Senegal, dan Venezuela.
