Anies Looking for Good Days Announces Candidates for Vice President in the Heat of PD-NasDem Relations
The presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan, is said to have chosen a vice-presidential candidate to accompany him in the 2024 presidential election. Anies is now looking for a good day to announce his cawapres amid the heat of Democrat and NasDem relations.
Anies is a presidential candidate supported by NasDem, Democrats and PKS. Political tensions within the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) have recently been heating up, especially between the Democrats and NasDem.
NasDem Party politician Ahmad Ali or Mad Ali was involved in a debate with Democratic Party politician Andi Arief. The theme they fussed over was the vice presidential candidate for Anies.
Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Ali, said the Democrat Party was forcing the Democratic Party chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to become Anies' vice presidential candidate. This was conveyed by Mad Ali in response to Andi Arief, who previously thought of other options if by June there was no certainty about the declaration of the presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"Want to take another option? Surely in your mind the other option is that the Democrats want to withdraw from the Coalition for Change. Or maybe it could be because of the uncertainty that AHY will become vice president, or he wants to say that if Anies is not with AHY, we will leave," Ali said when contacted, Tuesday (23/5/2023).
Ali said that since the beginning the parties in KPP had agreed to form a partnership. In fact, based on the charter agreement, each party handed over the cawapres decision to Anies Baswedan.
"Giving a mandate to Anies to choose his cawapres. So, that's the mandate today and Anies is using to make a selection to find the right cawapres," said Ali.
Ali then alluded to the Chairman of the Democratic Party's Bappilu Andi Arief, who had encouraged Anies to declare his running mate. Ali asked whether the Democrats had intensively introduced Anies to the public.
"If the reason (quick declaration) is due to decreased electability, our question is to our Democratic friends, have you socialized Mas Anies after they declared it? I think the Democratic Party can answer that," said Ali.
Through his Twitter account, Andi Arief dismissed this notion. Andi Arief instead asked Ahmad Ali whether NasDem would leave if Anies chose AHY as vice presidential candidate.
"According to Mad Ali, the Democrats' bluff just to force AHY to become Anies' vice presidential candidate and to withdraw from the coalition can make us turn around to ask Mad Ali if Anies chooses AHY, will NasDem leave the coalition?" said Andi Arief in his uploaded tweet, Friday (9/6/2023).
Pantun reply. The debate on the practical politics of this election continues. Mad Ali satirized the performance of the Democrats in campaigning for Anies as their coalition presidential candidate.
Ali explained that NasDem was not in a position to accept or reject Anies's proposed vice presidential candidate. His party submitted all cawapres decisions to Anies.
Andi answered Ali again. Andi accuses Ali of being childish.
PKS also tried to cool the situation. PKS asked the two parties to leave their respective egos.
"We invite friends from Nasdem and Democrats to let go of their respective egos. Give more space for the presidential candidate (Anies Baswedan) to determine who is the best cawapres," said PKS spokesperson M Kholid, Friday (9/6/ 2023).
Kholid reminded that NasDem and Democrats had mutually agreed that the cawapres affairs would be handed over to Anies Baswedan. He emphasized that authority was in Anies' hands.
"Both PKS, Nasdem and Democrats have mutually agreed that the affairs of the cawapres be handed over to the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan. The authority lies with the presidential candidate," he said.

Sudirman Said Reveals Anies Has Selected Vice Presidential Candidate
Most recently, the spokesperson for Anies Baswedan's presidential candidate, Sudirman Said, said that Anies had finished choosing who his vice presidential candidate would be. Anies, he said, was waiting for an auspicious day to announce it.
"Currently the process of sorting and selecting has been completed. Just waiting for a good day for Mr. Anies to decide and make an announcement," Sudirman told reporters, Saturday (10/6/2023).
He also said that no party in the coalition forced Anies to determine the vice presidential candidate. He said that NasDem, PKS, and Democrats had proposed names for vice presidential candidates to Anies.
"No one party forced it. All had the opportunity to propose names. The NasDem Party proposed several names, PKS proposed several figures, both cadres and non-cadres. Likewise the Democratic Party proposed a number of figures, both internal and external to the party," he said.
Sudirman asked all parties to be patient. He said Anies Baswedan would announce the running mate at the right time.
"Be patient, said Syahrini, everything will be beautiful in its time," said Sudirman.

Politikus Partai NasDem Ahmad Ali atau Mad Ali terlibat perdebatan dengan politikus Partai Demokrat Andi Arief. Tema yang mereka ributkan adalah soal calon wakil presiden untuk Anies.
Wakil Ketua Umum Partai NasDem, Ahmad Ali, bilang Partai Demokrat memaksa agar Ketum Demokrat Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) menjadi cawapres Anies. Hal itu disampaikan Mad Ali untuk merespons Andi Arief yang sebelumnya memikirkan opsi lain bila hingga Juni tidak ada kepastian deklarasi capres-cawapres.
"Mau ambil opsi lain? Pasti di pikiran kamu opsi lain itu Demokrat mau menarik diri dari Koalisi Perubahan. Atau mungkin bisa jadi karena ketidakpastian AHY jadi wapres, atau dia ingin mengatakan bahwa kalau Anies tidak dengan AHY, kami akan keluar," kata Ali saat dihubungi, Selasa (23/5/2023).
Ali mengatakan sejak awal partai di KPP sudah sepakat untuk membentuk kerja sama. Bahkan, berdasarkan piagam perjanjian, setiap partai menyerahkan keputusan cawapres kepada Anies Baswedan.
"Memberikan mandat kepada Anies untuk memilih cawapresnya. Nah, mandat itulah yang hari ini dan digunakan Anies untuk melakukan seleksi untuk mencari kira-kira (cawapres) yang pas," tutur Ali.
Ali kemudian menyinggung Ketua Bappilu Partai Demokrat Andi Arief yang sempat mendorong Anies untuk mendeklarasikan cawapresnya. Ali bertanya, apakah Demokrat sudah gencar mengenalkan Anies ke masyarakat.
"Kalau alasan (cepat deklarasi) karena menurunnya elektabiltas, pertanyaan kita ke kawan-kawan Demokrat, sudahkan menyosialisasikan Mas Anies setelah mereka mendeklarasikan? Rasa-rasanya yang bisa jawab itu Partai Demokrat," tutur Ali.
Melalui akun Twitternya, Andi Arief menepis anggapan tersebut. Andi Arief justru bertanya balik ke Ahmad Ali apakah NasDem akan keluar jika Anies akan memilih AHY sebagai cawapres.
"Menurut Mad Ali gertakan Demokrat hanya untuk memaksakan AHY menjadi cawapres Anies dan akan cabut dari koalisi bisa membuat kita berbalik tanya pada Mad Ali jika Anies memilih AHY apakah NasDem akan cabut dari koalisi?" kata Andi Arief dalam cuitannya yang diunggah, Jumat (9/6/2023).

Ali menjelaskan, NasDem tak berada di posisi yang menerima atau menolak usulan cawapres Anies kelak. Pihaknya menyerahkan seluruh keputusan cawapres ke Anies.
Andi kembali menjawab Ali. Andi menuding respons Ali kekanakan.
PKS pun mencoba mendinginkan situasi. PKS mengajak kedua partai meninggalkan egonya masing-masing.
"Kami mengajak kawan dari Nasdem dan Demokrat untuk sama-sama menanggalkan ego masing-masing. Berikan ruang yang lebih leluasa bagi Capres (Anies Baswedan) untuk menentukan siapa cawapres yang terbaik," kata Juru Bicara PKS M Kholid, Jumat (9/6/2023).
Kholid mengingatkan NasDem dan Demokrat sudah sama-sama sepakat urusan cawapres diserahkan kepada Anies Baswedan. Dia menegaskan otoritas itu ada di tangan Anies.
"Baik PKS, Nasdem maupun Demokrat sudah sama-sama sepakat bahwa urusan cawapres diserahkan kepada Capres Anies Baswedan. Otoritas ada di capres ya," ucapnya.

Sudirman Said Ungkap Anies Sudah Pilih Cawapres
Terbaru, Juru bicara bakal capres Anies Baswedan, Sudirman Said, mengatakan Anies sudah selesai memilih siapa bakal cawapresnya. Anies, katanya, menunggu hari baik untuk mengumumkannya.
"Saat ini proses memilah dan memilih sudah selesai. Tinggal tunggu hari baik bagi Pak Anies untuk memutuskan dan mengumumkan," ujar Sudirman kepada wartawan, Sabtu (10/6/2023).
Dia juga mengatakan tak ada satu pihak pun di dalam koalisi yang memaksa Anies dalam penentuan cawapres. Dia menyebut NasDem, PKS, dan Demokrat sudah mengusulkan nama-nama bakal cawapres kepada Anies.
"Tidak ada satu pun pihak yang memaksakan. Semua mendapat kesempatan mengusulkan nama. Partai NasDem mengusulkan beberapa nama, PKS mengusulkan beberapa figur baik kader maupun nonkader. Begitupun Partai Demokrat menyodorkan sejumlah tokoh, baik internal maupun eksternal Partai," ucapnya.
Sudirman meminta semua pihak bersabar. Dia mengatakan Anies Baswedan akan mengumumkan cawapres pada waktu yang tepat.
"Sabar ya, kata Syahrini, semua akan indah pada waktunya," ujar Sudirman.
