Musra and Jokowi's Maneuvers as the Strongest "King Maker".
Three names of presidential candidates (candidates) as a result of the People's Consultation (Musra) were submitted to President Joko Widodo at the peak of the Indonesian Musra event which was held at Istora Senayan, Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta, Sunday (14/5/2023).
The Chairman of the Barus Panel Committee, Chair of the Steering Committee Andi Gani Nena Wea, and Person in Charge of the Musra Budi Arie Setiadi and their staff handed over the results of the Musra directly to President Jokowi.
Andi Gani conveyed that Musra was held in almost all provinces and foreign representatives. The results of this Musra gave rise to three big names for presidential candidates and four names for vice presidential candidates (cawapres).
"Mr President, Musra has selected three presidential candidates, the first being Mas Ganjar Pranowo who is also the PDI-Perjuangan presidential candidate," said Andi Gani.
"Second, Pak Prabowo Subianto, General Chair of the Gerindra Party, and thirdly Pak Airlangga Hartarto, General Chair of Golkar," he said.
Meanwhile, for the cawapres, first on Musra's radar was the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.
Then, Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko, Minister of Creative Economy Tourism (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, and Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid.
From the results of the Musra, Andi Gani asked President Joko Widodo to determine a name for a presidential candidate and a vice presidential candidate who would later be supported by volunteers.
"We, Jokowi's volunteers, will be loyal to the end of guarding you, we are waiting for your directions, a large ship of volunteers will be anchored where the support is, pejah gesang nderek (life and death follow) Jokowi," said Andi Gani.
Jokowi asked volunteers not to make the wrong choice
After receiving the Musra results, Jokowi then delivered a speech in order to provide direction to thousands of his volunteers. The Head of State invites his volunteers not to choose the wrong leader in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
"Electing a leader in 2024 is very crucial, it is very important to be precise and correct, that's why I say back and forth, don't be hasty," Jokowi said.
“Don't be hasty because it's so wrong we can't ask to come back again. It can't be," said the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Jokowi also reminded about the world condition which is full of uncertainty. This situation may occur in a short time. Therefore, Indonesia needs leaders who have the courage to make decisive policies and decisions for the benefit of the nation and state.
"We know the state of the world, global uncertainty until it is estimated that up to 5-10 years to come it will still happen," said Jokowi.
"So once again the captain must be a brave captain, dare to take risks for the benefit of this country, for the benefit of this nation," he said again.
Jokowi's version of leader criteria
President Jokowi hopes that in the future Indonesia will be led by a figure who can care for democracy at the grassroots and not among the elite.
He reminded that Indonesia needs the right leader to be able to lead a large country with a population of more than 280 million.
"Our people, the Indonesian people, need the right leader, the right leader, who is close to the people, who understands the heart of the people, who knows the people's needs, who wants to work hard for the people. That's what is needed," said Jokowi.
In addition to the above criteria, the Head of State also stressed the importance of a brave leader to lead the Indonesian nation.
According to Jokowi, the leader that Indonesia needs is a leader who understands how to manage the country and has the courage to take advantage of the opportunities that exist.
"The people need a leader who understands, who understands how to advance this country. Because a leader must understand and know the potential and strengths of this country, what is the strength of this nation, he must understand he must know," said the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Jokowi hopes that in the future Indonesia can be led by someone who understands strategy and has ideas in advancing the nation and state. He warned not to let his volunteers choose leaders who only carry out their routine as president.
"It's not just sitting at the Palace and signing signatures, that's not it. He must know that building a state strategy, economic strategy, political strategy must have everything," said Jokowi.
"Because we are dealing with other countries, because we are competing with other countries, we are competing with other countries," he added.
Musra results are submitted to political parties
Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo admitted that he still kept the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates from Musra. Next, Jokowi will whisper to the parties regarding the names of the presidential or vice presidential candidates.
"So, frankly, we have to give time to the party or coalition of parties to settle the presidential and vice presidential candidates," said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that based on the constitution, parties or coalitions of parties could nominate candidates for president and vice president.
“Thus, it is my part to give a strong whisper to the parties whose coalitions are currently unfinished. So if I speak now for what? That's called a strategy, yes it is. Don't be in a hurry, don't be in a rush," he said.
Considered to be a "king maker"
The Head of State's briefing at the Musara peak event is seen as strengthening Jokowi's position as king maker in the 2024 Presidential Election.
Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia Hanta Yuda said that Jokowi's role as a determinant was increasingly visible with the directives to his volunteers.
"By gathering opinions like this, gathering volunteers will strengthen Jokowi's position as king maker in the political constellation of candidates in the next few days," said Hanta in the "Kompas Petang" program, on Kompas TV, Sunday afternoon.
Hanta is of the view that Jokowi is the strongest king maker at the moment. This is because, although he is not the general chairman of a political party, the former governor of DKI Jakarta is considered to have a strong influence in the 2024 presidential election.
This, he said, can be seen when the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia can communicate, gather strength, especially parties within the government, apart from Nasdem and PDI-P.
Musra dan Manuver Jokowi sebagai "King Maker" Terkuat
Tiga nama calon presiden (capres) hasil Musyawarah Rakyat (Musra) telah disampaikan kepada Presiden Joko Widodo dalam puncak acara Musra Indonesia yang digelar di Istora Senayan, Kompleks Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, Minggu (14/5/2023).
Ketua Panitia Panel Barus, Ketua Dewan Pengarah Andi Gani Nena Wea, dan Penanggung Jawab Musra Budi Arie Setiadi beserta jajaran menyerahkan langsung hasil Musra tersebut kepada Presiden Jokowi.
Andi Gani menyampaikan, Musra digelar di hampir semua provinsi dan perwakilan luar negeri. Hasil Musra ini memunculkan tiga nama besar untuk capres dan empat nama calon wakil presiden (cawapres).
“Bapak Presiden, Musra telah menjaring tiga calon presiden, yang pertama Mas Ganjar Pranowo yang juga capres PDI-Perjuangan,” papar Andi Gani.
“Kedua, Pak Prabowo Subianto, Ketua Umum Partai Gerindra, dan ketiga Pak Airlangga Hartarto, Ketua Umum Golkar,” ungkapnya.
Sementara itu, untuk cawapres, pada urutan pertama yang masuk radar Musra adalah Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik, Hukum, dan Keamanan (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.
Kemudian, Kepala Staf Kepresidenan (KSP) Moeldoko, Menteri Pariwisata Ekonomi Kreatif (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, serta Ketua Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid.
Dari hasil Musra tersebut, Andi Gani meminta Presiden Joko Widodo untuk menentukan satu nama calon presiden dan calon wakil presiden yang nantinya bakal didukung oleh para relawan.
“Kami relawan Jokowi akan setia sampai akhir menjaga Bapak, kami menunggu arahan Bapak, kapal besar relawan akan dilabuhkan kemana dukungannya, pejah gesang nderek (hidup-mati ikut) Jokowi,” tutur Andi Gani.
Jokowi minta relawan jangan salah pilih
Usai menerima hasil Musra, Jokowi lantas menyampaikan pidato dalam rangka memberikan pengarahan kepada ribuan para relawannya. Kepala Negara mengajak relawannya untuk tidak salah memilih pemimpin dalam Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) tahun 2024.
“Memilih pemimpin di tahun 2024 ini sangat krusial sangat penting sekali harus tepat dan benar, oleh sebab itu, saya bolak-balik menyampaikan jangan grusa-grusu,” ujar Jokowi.
“Jangan tergesa-gesa karena begitu keliru kita tidak bisa minta kembali lagi. Enggak bisa,” kata mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta itu.
Jokowi pun mengingatkan soal kondisi dunia yang penuh ketidakpastian. Keadaan ini mungkin saja terjadi dalam waktu yang tidak sebentar. Oleh sebab itu, Indonesia butuh pemimpin yang berani mengambil kebijakan dan keputusan yang tagas untuk kepentingan bangsa dan negara.
“Kita tahu keadaan dunia, ketidakpastian global sampai diperkirakan sampai 5-10 tahun yang akan datang itu masih akan terjadi,” ujar Jokowi.
“Sehingga sekali lagi nakhodanya itu harus nakhoda yang berani, berani mengambil risiko untuk kepentingan negara ini, untuk kepentingan untuk bangsa ini,” kata dia lagi.
Kriteria pemimpin versi Jokowi
Presiden Jokowi berharap, ke depan Indonesia dapat dipimpin oleh sosok yang bisa merawat demokrasi di akar rumput dan bukan di kalangan elite.
Ia mengingatkan bahwa Indonesia membutuhkan pemimpin yang tepat untuk bisa memimpin negara besar dengan jumlah penduduk yang lebih dari 280 juta.
"Rakyat kita, rakyat Indonesia butuh pemimpin yang tepat, butuh pemimpin yang benar, yang dekat dengan rakyat, yang paham hati rakyat, yang tahu kebutuhan rakyat, yang mau bekerja keras untuk rakyat. Itu yang dibutuhkan," papar Jokowi.
Selain kriteria di tersebut, Kepala Negara juga menekankan pentingnya sosok pemimpin yang pemberani untuk memimpin bangsa Indonesia.
Menurut Jokowi, sosok pemimpin yang dibutuhkan Indonesia adalah pemimpin yang mengerti cara mengelola negara dan berani memanfaatkan peluang yang ada.
"Rakyat butuh pemimpin yang paham, yang ngerti bagaimana memajukan negara ini. Karena pemimpin itu harus paham dan tahu potensi serta kekuatan negara ini, kekuatan bangsa ini apa, dia harus ngerti dia harus tahu," tegas mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta itu.
Jokowi berharap, Indonesia ke depan dapat dipimpin oleh sosok yang paham akan strategi dan memiliki gagasan dalam memajukan bangsa dan negara. Ia mengingatkan, jangan sampai relawannya memilih pemimpin yang hanya menjalankan rutinitas sebagai presiden.
"Bukan hanya duduk di Istana dan tanda tangan, bukan itu. Dia harus tahu membangun sebuah strategi negara, strategi ekonomi, strategi politik harus ada semuanya," kata Jokowi.
"Karena kita berhadapan dengan negara-negara lain, karena kita bersaing dengan negara-negara lain, kita berkompetisi dengan negara-negara lain," tambahnya.
Hasil Musra disampaikan ke parpol
Sementara itu, Presiden Joko Widodo mengaku masih menyimpan nama-nama capres dan cawapres hasil Musra. Selanjutnya, Jokowi akan memberikan bisikan kepada partai-partai terkait nama-nama capres atau cawapres.
“Jadi saya terus terang, ini harus kita berikan waktu kepada partai atau gabungan partai untuk menyelesaikan urusan capres-cawapres,” kata Jokowi.
Jokowi mengatakan, berdasarkan konstitusi, yang bisa mencalonkan capres dan cawapres adalah partai atau gabungan partai.
“Sehingga, itu bagian saya untuk memberikan bisikan kuat kepada partai-partai yang sekarang ini juga koalisinya belum selesai. Jadi kalau saya ngomong sekarang untuk apa? Itu yang namanya strategi, ya itu. Jangan tergesa-gesa, jangan grasa-grusu,” kata dia.
Dinilai jadi "king maker"
Pengarahan Kepala Negara dalam acara puncak Musara dinilai memperkuat posisi Jokowi sebagai king maker pada Pilpres 2024.
Direktur Eksekutif Poltracking Indonesia Hanta Yuda menilai, peran Jokowi sebagai penentu makin terlihat dengan adanya arahan kepada para relawannya.
"Dengan menggalang opini seperti ini, menggalang kekuatan relawan akan memperkuat posisi Jokowi sebagai king maker dalam konstelasi politik kandidasi beberapa hari ke depan," kata Hanta dalam acara "Kompas Petang", di Kompas TV, Minggu sore.
Hanta berpandangan, Jokowi merupakan sosok king maker terkuat saat ini. Pasalnya, meski bukan merupakan ketua umum partai politik, mantan Gubernur DKI Jakarta itu dinilai memiliki pengaruh yang kuat dalam Pilpres 2024.
Hal ini, kata dia, terlihat ketika Presiden ketujuh RI ini dapat mengomunikasikan, menggalang kekuatan, terutama partai-partai di dalam pemerintahan, di luar dari Nasdem dan PDI-P.
