Secretary General PDI-P Worried Presence Israeli National Team U20 World Cup Will Lead Impeachment Jokowi

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto is worried that the presence of the Israeli national team as a participant in the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia will lead to the impeachment of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). 

It is known, impeachment or impeachment is a process of imposing charges by a legislature against high-ranking state officials. In other words, removing the president or other high-ranking officials from their positions. 

"(The government) is encouraged first to accept Israel, then there are various problems related to security. We have to calculate the worst risks in politics," said Hasto in the GASPOL! program. on Youtube http://Kompas.com/, Thursday (5/4/2023). 

"Then, then there were accusations that Pak Jokowi violated the constitution," he said again. 

"Then, it led to impeachment," said Hasto again

First, according to Hasto, Jokowi could be accused of violating the preamble to the 1945 Constitution if the Israeli national team came and played in Indonesia. 

"Second, the law in the Asian-African conference that we signed, which rejected Israel," said Hasto. 

"Then, there is a Minister of Foreign Affairs regulation which has been recorded in the state news, this becomes an easy target (against Jokowi)," he continued. 

Therefore, PDI-P expressed its attitude of rejecting Israel as a participant in the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia. 

Hasto then revealed that PDI-P had been lobbying the government since the first round of the 2023 U20 World Cup. 

On August 17, 2022, said Hasto, PDI-P held a discussion regarding Israel's potential participation in the 2023 U20 World Cup. 

Departing from this discussion, PDI-P then lobbied Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno Marsudi and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno. 

"I said, let alone the right groups, the kadrun group, the PDI Perjuangan even refused. So, please convey this to the President because we are not said to be in conflict with the government," Hasto told Foreign Minister Retno at the time. 

Then, PDI-P proposed another option to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Israel to compete in Singapore. 

"PDI-P fully supports the U20 World Cup. As a form of support, I stated to Miss Minister of Foreign Affairs that we would not be holding a PDI-P anniversary at GBK, we would move it to Kemayoran," said Hasto. 

However, according to Hasto, the stance against PDI-P had been taken long before August 2022. 

Hasto revealed that the results of a survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) showed that 67 percent of Indonesians reject Israel. 

"What is the level of sensitivity of the Indonesian people towards Israel's presence. In May 2022, it turns out that 67 percent refused," said Hasto. 

When the U20 World Cup entered its second round, PDI-P again lobbied a number of figures. One of them is Pratikno. 

At that time, Hasto also expressed the attitude of the PDI-P to the former Chairman of the Central Muhammadiyah, Din Syamsuddin. 

"We don't want an act of rioting, various terror threats," said Hasto. 

"So when Ade Armando said the reasons were only compiled after we were attacked, that is wrong," said Hasto again. 

In the end, PDI-P expressed its rejection of Israel to the public through two of its cadres, namely Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Bali Governor I Wayan Koster.
