Stones thrown GP Ansor Group Minibus, Members Silat College Turned Out Wrong Target



As many as 11 members of a silat school in Trenggalek Regency, East Java became suspects after throwing stones at a minibus filled with the Ansor Tulungagung Youth Movement (GP) group that was passing by. 

Apparently the perpetrators wrong target. They thought the minibus was carrying a group of other silat colleges. 

"The target was a minibus from a silat school group who were going home to attend activities outside the city," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Trenggalek Police, Iptu Agus Salim in the lobby of the Trenggalek Police office, Monday (6/3/2023).

Agus Salim revealed, at the time of the incident, Sunday (5/3/2023) in the morning, the minibus of the GP Ansor group had just returned from a pilgrimage to the graves of religious figures in Ponorogo. 

"Those who were attacked by the perpetrators turned out to be on the wrong target," said Agus Salim. 

At that time there were four minibuses in the Tulungagung GP Ansor group. Two minibuses were hit. 

"When crossing into the Tugu sub-district area, the perpetrators threw stones at the group, hitting the third and fourth cars," said Agus Salim. 

The third minibus was pelted with stones so that the glass of the right door shattered and hit the driver. 

The minibus went out of control and then fell into the river on the side of the road. 

"The worst was car number three. The side and front windows were broken. Meanwhile, car number four had a broken glass on the rear right side," said Agus Salim.

As a result, eight people were injured. Two of them had to get treatment at the hospital. 

"Two people were seriously injured, one victim was referred because his injuries were quite severe," said Agus Salim. 

GP Ansor Tulungagung then went to the Trenggalek Police office to deliver a statement so that the perpetrators would be prosecuted. 

11 suspects
After the incident, members of the Trenggalek Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a crime scene (TKP) investigation and found evidence in the form of a number of stones that were allegedly used to throw stones at the minibus. 

The police who combed the area arrested seven suspected perpetrators, then grew to 21 people. 

"After the incident on Sunday (5/3/2023) in the morning, we have secured 21 suspected perpetrators and examined them. Then 11 suspects were named," explained Agus Salim. 

According to him, the perpetrators were members of a martial arts group. They are residents of Trenggalek Regency and Ponorogo Regency. 

"The perpetrators are residents of Ponorogo and Trenggalek Regencies," he said. 

The perpetrators are threatened with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning joint violence with a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison.
