Reprimanded for Traffic Violation, Fortuner Driver Instead "Rounds" the Police on Jalan Rawa Buaya West Jakarta

A Fortuner driver continued to drive his car even though he had been chased away by police officers at a red light in the Rawa Buaya area, West Jakarta. 

Based on the video uploaded by the Instagram account @jakartabarat24jam, the traffic police were in front of the car to block it. 

Despite being blocked, the driver of the car just kept trying to pass. 

In fact, the body of the car slightly nudged the officer in the midst of heavy traffic. Not long after, officers from the Department of Transportation and other police approached. 

One of the policemen can be seen talking to the driver of the car through the car window. 

This incident was confirmed by the Head of the West Jakarta Police Headquarters, Kompol Maulana Karepesina. 

"Yes, the driver violated the sign and was reprimanded by the members. However, the vehicle continued," said Maulana when confirmed, Tuesday (21/3/2023). 

Maulana said that the incident occurred on Monday (20/3/2023) at around 17.00 WIB. The Fortuner driver, whose identity has not yet been identified, used an additional lane on the road to the Rawa Buaya Toll Road. 

"The driver was wrong, what happened yesterday. It was a member of the road arrangements for the Rawa Buaya Toll Road, and the right turn should have used two lanes but the driver took the third additional lane," said Maulana. 

The car used is not an official car. Due to this incident, Maulana ensured that the police officers who were at the location did not suffer any injuries to their bodies. 

"Officers are okay, motorists keep going no problem," explained Maulana.
