The project will exceed the height of iconic buildings in Dubai once completed.
According to Augustman, Thursday (14/3/2024), Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) has continued work on a building more than 1,000 meters high.

Later the building will become a multi-purpose building that accommodates many accommodations.
Starting from luxury hotels, office spaces, serviced apartments, luxury condominiums and the highest observatory in the world.

A source close to the project said that construction work on the tower is "back in full swing."
The tender for the project has been officially issued, and 14 companies from around the world have been invited to bid for contracts.

The tower's foundation and pilings have been completed, and a tender for the construction of the tower's superstructure is being conducted.
Work on this project began in the early 2010s by the Saudi Binladin Group (SBG).

According to a report by Gulf Business, the tower has a total area of approximately 5.7 million square feet.

Jeddah Tower is the main attraction and the first construction phase of the USD 20 billion Kingdom City development in Saudi Arabia.
The tower itself is estimated to cost around USD 1.2 billion and will be at least 173 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
The Burj Khalifa is known to have a height of 828 meters, and was designed by Adrian Smith at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Developer Architecture said that the Jeddah Tower design "represents an evolution and refinement of the architectural series of skyscraper designs".
The report adds that the three-petal footprint is ideal for residential units, and the tapered wings produce an aerodynamic shape that helps reduce structural loads due to wind vortex shedding.

The Jeddah Tower design embraces its architectural pedigree, taking full advantage of the proven design strategies and technological strategies of its lineage, refining and advancing them to reach new heights.
The new construction will be carried out using environmentally friendly technologies and materials, and will focus on minimizing energy consumption.
Additionally, each of the three sides of the Jeddah Tower will have a series of curves that create shadow pockets.
Its purpose is to protect part of the building from sunlight while offering stunning views of the city and the Red Sea.
Another interesting area of the building is its sky terrace, which is about 30 meters in diameter.
Located on the 157th floor, the Jeddah Tower terrace will be open to the public and serve as the world's highest observatory.
