Photomath Officially Becomes Google's Application on the Play Store

– Google acquired Photomath, a mathematical problem solving application, in May 2022. However, Google only changed its application publisher account on Thursday, February 29.
When searching for an app in the Google Play Store, the name of the app developer or publisher will be included below the app name. For years, the developer of Photomath was Photomath LLC, but now Google is changing it.
The name of the publisher of the Photomath application has now changed to Google LLC. This change in publisher name shows that Photomath is now under the auspices of Google.
This application was acquired in 2022, but Photomath only officially came under Google in March last year. Google must first obtain unconditional permission from the European Union (EU) Antitrust Regulator.
Luckily, Google received unconditional acquisition approval. According to the regulator, the deal between Photomath and Google will not reduce competition in the market for apps that offer math learning tools.
Before being acquired, the number of Photomath downloads was already large. Google Play Store only shows more than 100 million downloads, but in fact, this app has been downloaded more than 300 million times worldwide.
Currently, the Photomath application still operates independently. However, it is possible that Google will integrate special Photomath functions into some services, such as Google Lens and Search, to help with math purposes.
The Photomath application can be used for free and for a fee. A Photomath Plus subscription is priced at 9.99 US dollars per month (Rp. 157 thousand). This premium version will provide Textbook Solutions and more in-depth explanations.

– Google telah mengakuisisi Photomath, aplikasi pemecah masalah matematika, pada Mei 2022. Namun, Google baru mengubah akun penerbit aplikasinya pada Kamis, 29 Februari lalu.
Saat mencari suatu aplikasi di Google Play Store, nama pengembang atau penerbit aplikasi akan disertakan di bawah nama aplikasinya. Selama bertahun-tahun, pengembang Photomath adalah Photomath LLC, tetapi kini Google menggantinya.
Nama penerbit aplikasi Photomath kini telah berubah menjadi Google LLC. Peralihan nama penerbit ini menunjukkan bahwa Photomath sudah berada di bawah naungan Google.
Aplikasi ini memang diakuisi pada tahun 2022, tetapi Photomath baru resmi berada di bawah naungan Google pada Maret tahun lalu. Google harus mendapatkan izin tanpa syarat terlebih dahulu dari Regulator Antimonopoli Uni Eropa (UE).
Beruntungnya, Google mendapatkan persetujuan akuisisi tanpa syarat. Menurut regulator, kesepakatan antara Photomath dan Google tidak akan mengurangi persaingan di pasar aplikasi yang menawarkan alat bantu belajar matematika.
Sebelum diakuisi, jumlah unduhan Photomath pun sudah banyak. Google Play Store hanya menampilkan unduhan lebih dari 100 juta kali, tetapi nyatanya, aplikasi ini telah diunduh lebih dari 300 juta kali di seluruh dunia.
Saat ini, aplikasi Photomath masih beroperasi secara mandiri. Namun, ada kemungkinan bahwa Google akan mengintegrasikan fungsi khusus Photomath ke dalam beberapa layanan, seperti Google Lens dan Search, untuk membantu keperluan matematika.
