Android Users Can Now Delete Apps from Different Devices
- Google is rolling out an update for its app store, Play Store. One of the new features allows users to uninstall apps aka uninstall remotely, or on different devices with the same Google account.
Previously, the mechanism for uninstalling applications on different devices with the same account was quite complicated because it had to be done directly via the device concerned.
For example, you set up the same Google account on your smartphone and Android TV, then install the game on both devices.
When you want to delete the game, you have to delete it via smartphone or via live TV.
So, through the Play Store version 38.8 update, users can uninstall applications from just one Play Store door, for example via a desktop browser or smartphone.
When a user wants to delete a particular application, the user will be presented with the option of whether they want to delete the application on the smartphone or installed on Android TV or others.
This feature supports many Android platforms including smartphone, PC, Auto, TV and Wear. This means that users can delete applications installed on Android Auto devices or on Wear (smartwatches), from the Play Store on smartphones.
So, the uninstall mechanism no longer needs to go through each device.
Support for uninstalling applications remotely or from different devices will make it easier for users, especially Android TV, Auto, or Wear OS. The reason is, devices that run on this operating system usually have a fairly limited interface compared to smartphones.
Apart from adding this feature, the Play Store user interface (UI) has also been polished to make it easier for users to navigate. Now, users can sort applications based on their size. That way, they can monitor which applications use the most memory.
There is also an option to group apps by devices with the same Google account, so users can manage them more easily.

Play Store overhaul
Recently Google also agreed to pay a fine in the alleged Play Store monopoly case and stated its plans to overhaul the application store.
This case began in 2021, where users from 50 US states unitedly took Google to court alleging Play Store monopolistic practices. Google has been accused of being a monopoly because it does not provide other payment options in the Play Store application store.
Apart from that, the application revenue tax that Google collects is also considered too high. Well, this case was resolved last September. Google has also now stated that it has agreed to settle the case by paying 700 million US dollars (around Rp. 10.8 trillion).
In addition to paying, Google, according to court documents compiled by TheVerge, also agreed to overhaul the Play Store so that it is no longer considered a monopoly, while also making the app store more open and transparent.
One of the policies that will be present in the Play Store is the User Choice Billing feature which allows users to replace the payment system in the application (in-app purchase) with an alternative outside the Google system.
Then, Google will also allow application developers to freely regulate the payment systems they implement in their own applications. So, transactions in the application do not use the Google system.

Nah, lewat pembaruan Play Store versi 38.8, pengguna bisa uninstal aplikasi dari satu pintu Play Store saja, misalnya lewat browser desktop atau lewat smartphone.
Ketika pengguna ingin menghapus aplikasi tertentu, pengguna akan disajikan opsi apakah ingin menghapus aplikasi yang ada di smartphone atau yang terpasang di Android TV atau lainnya.

Dukungan uninstal aplikasi dari jarak jauh atau dari perangkat berbeda ini bakal memudahkan pengguna, khususnya Android TV, Auto, atau Wear OS. Pasalnya, perangkat yang berjalan dengan sistem operasi itu biasanya punya antarmuka yang cukup terbatas dibanding smartphone.
Selain menambahkan fitur itu, antarmuka (user interface/UI) Play Store juga dipoles agar lebih memudahkan navigasi pengguna. Kini, pengguna bisa mengurutkan aplikasi berdasarkan ukurannya. Dengan begitu, mereka bisa memantau aplikasi mana yang paling boros memori.
Ada pula opsi untuk mengelompokkan aplikasi berdasarkan perangkat dengan akun Google yang sama, sehingga pengguna bisa lebih mudah mengelolanya.

Rombak Play Store
Baru-baru ini Google juga sepakat membayar denda kasus dugaan monopoli Play Store dan menyatakan rencananya untuk merombak toko aplikasi tersebut.
Kasus ini bermula pada tahun 2021, di mana pengguna dari 50 negara bagian AS kompak membawa Google ke pengadilan dengan dugaan praktik monopoli Play Store. Google diadukan karena dianggap melakukan monopoli karena tidak memberikan opsi pembayaran lain di toko aplikasi Play Store.
