Idris Sindir Kaesang about Cawalkot, Member of F-PKB DPRD: People Know Depok Not Sure Can "Clean Up" Depok
Babai Suhaimi, a member of the PKB faction of the Depok City DPRD, alluded to those who banned outsiders from Depok City from running for the 2024 Depok City regional head election (Pilkada).
One of those who banned it was Mayor of Depok, Mohammad Idris.
Babai blamed Idris for forbidding outsiders from Depok City from running for the 2024 Depok City Pilkada.
"Wrong, Mr. Idris said if you don't know Depok, don't try to become Mayor of Depok. That is a wrong statement, which is not right," said Babai by telephone, Sunday (2/7/2023).
According to him, the native residents of Depok City also do not necessarily know in depth about the problems in the area.
Babai emphasized that the most important thing that a regional leader must have is leadership attitude.
Mainly, leading the state civil apparatus (ASN) of the Depok City Government.
"There are those who say, don't try to be mayor of Depok, if you don't know Depok. In my opinion, you can't say that. Because talking about leading the government is different from completing a job," said Babai.
"People know that Depok is not certain to be the leader of Depok, it is not certain that it can solve problems in the city of Depok," he added.
Previously, Idris opened his voice about the discourse on Kaesang Pangarep running in the 2024 Depok City Pilkada.
Idris said, there are several criteria that must be met by anyone who wants to run for mayor of Depok.
"So the first criterion I offer is don't try to become mayor in the city of Depok if you don't understand the character of Depok. The character of Depok needs to be understood first, the character of its citizens is the same," said Idris quoted from YouTube Kompas TV, Monday (26/6/ 2023).
In addition, Idris said that later Depok leaders may not work for the party.
According to him, Depok leaders must put their people first even if the people don't vote for them during the Pilkada.
"The second criterion, I say, is that if you become mayor, even though yesterday it was carried out by only a few parties, then he has worked for the residents, the people of Depok City," said Idris.
"Even though he's a Depok person, he didn't vote for me (the mayor of Depok later) I have to care about him. Because he's a Depok resident, he has rights according to the provisions, he can't be picky," he continued.
Idris said the criteria for a Depok leader he mentioned apply to anyone who will replace his current position later.
"Kaesang and anyone like that, including prospective residents here. There are Depok people who don't understand Depok because Depok is only used as a place to sleep," said Idris.

Anggota Fraksi PKB DPRD Kota Depok Babai Suhaimi menyinggung pihak yang melarang orang luar Kota Depok maju pemilihan kepala daerah (Pilkada) Kota Depok 2024.
Salah satunya yang melarang hal itu adalah Wali Kota Depok Mohammad Idris.
Babai menyalahkan Idris yang melarang orang luar Kota Depok untuk maju Pilkada Kota Depok 2024.
"Salah, Pak Idris mengatakan kalau enggak tahu Depok, jangan coba-coba jadi Wali Kota Depok. Itu pernyataan yang salah, yang tidak tepat," ujar Babai melalui sambungan telepon, Minggu (2/7/2023).
Menurut dia, warga asli Kota Depok juga belum tentu mengetahui secara mendalam persoalan di wilayah tersebut.
Babai menegaskan, hal terpenting yang harus dimiliki pemimpin daerah adalah sikap kepemimpinan.
Utamanya, memimpin aparatur sipil negara (ASN) Pemerintah Kota Depok.
"Kan ada yang sebut, jangan coba-coba jadi wali kota Depok, kalau tidak tahu Depok. Menurut saya, tidak bisa berkata seperti itu. Sebab, bicara memimpin pemerintahan itu, beda dengan menyelesaikan sebuah pekerjaan," kata Babai.
"Orang tahu Depok belum tentu bisa menjadi pemimpin Depok, belum tentu bisa menyelesaikan permasalah di kota Depok," imbuh dia.
Idris sebelumnya buka suara soal wacana Kaesang Pangarep maju dalam Pilkada Kota Depok 2024.
Idris mengatakan, ada beberapa kriteria yang harus dipenuhi oleh siapa pun yang ingin berkandidat sebagai wali kota Depok.
"Jadi kriteria pertama yang saya tawarkan jangan coba-coba jadi wali kota di kota Depok kalau belum memahami tentang karakter Depok. Karakter Depok perlu dipahami dulu, karakter warganya juga begitu," ungkap Idris dikutip dari YouTube Kompas TV, Senin (26/6/2023).
Selain itu, Idris menyampaikan bahwa pemimpin Depok nantinya tidak boleh bekerja untuk partai.
Menurut dia, pemimpin Depok harus mengutamakan rakyatnya sekalipun rakyat itu tak memilihnya saat Pilkada.
"Yang kedua kriteria saya katakan, kalau sudah jadi wali kota walaupun kemarin diusung hanya beberapa partai yasudah dia kerja untuk warga, masyarakat Kota Depok," kata Idris.
"Walaupun orang Depok, dia gak milih saya (wali kota Depok nanti) saya harus peduli sama dia. Karena dia warga Depok punya hak sesuai ketentuan, tak boleh pilih-pilih," sambung dia.
Idris mengatakan, kriteria pemimpin Depok yang ia sebutkan berlaku untuk siapa pun yang nanti akan mengganti posisinya saat ini.
"Kaesang maupun siapa pun begitu, termasuk calon-calon orang sini. Kan ada orang Depok yang enggak paham tentang Depok karena Depok hanya dijadikan sebagai tempat tidur," tutur Idris.
