Ukraine Rejects Prabowo's Suggestion about Russia War: Weird Plan!

The Ukrainian government rejected suggestions by Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Prabowo made the suggestion at a defense summit in Singapore.

The Minister of Defense (Menhan) of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov firmly rejected Prabowo's suggestion.

"Sounds like a Russian plan, not an Indonesian plan," he said. "We don't need these mediators coming to us [with] this strange plan," he said as reported by The Kyiv Post and AFP, Monday (5/6/2023).

This was conveyed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine after Prabowo proposed 5 suggestions regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, one of which was a ceasefire.

"Therefore I want to take this opportunity to recommend to our brothers in Ukraine and in Russia to end hostilities as soon as possible," Prabowo said at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue 20th Asia Security Summit,Singapore, as stated in its official statement, Saturday (3/6/2023).

The five suggestions are first, a truce. Second, retreating 15 kilometers each to a new line (rear) from each country's current forward position.

Third, forming a monitoring force and advising the United Nations to deploy along the new demilitarized zones of the two countries. Fourth, monitoring and expert troops from the United Nations consisting of contingents from countries agreed upon by Ukraine and Russia.

Fifth, the United Nations must organize and carry out a referendum in the disputed areas to objectively ascertain the wishes of the majority of the population of the various disputed areas.

"At least, let's try to put forward some concrete recommendations so that a meeting like the Shangri-La Dialogue will have more substance and meaning," said Prabowo.

Prabowo said these steps were effective in history. For example, what happened in Korea.

"Although I agree that a resolution must still be reached in Korea," said Prabowo.

"However, what is urgent is an immediate cessation of hostilities to protect innocent civilians in conflict areas," he stressed.
