Earthquake in Yogyakarta, Panic Residents Running Out of Houses
Yogyakarta - Residents in the city of Yogyakarta panicked and ran out of their homes when the earthquake occurred around 19.57 WIB on Friday night, 30 June 2023.
According to the BMKG report, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter Scale, 86 km southwest of Bantul Regency, with a depth of 25 kilometers.
"I was just about to take a shower and it didn't work immediately, I really felt an earthquake in the bathroom," said Head of RT 11 RW 3 Wirobrajan City of Yogyakarta, Budi Santoso.
Budi and his wife, who are in a crowded settlement near Malioboro, immediately ran out onto the street. Based on Tempo's observation, residents in the village were also seen running out onto the street because they were scared.
"What makes you afraid of things above, such as the AC compressor, ceiling, vibrate everything. Fear of falling and buildings collapsing," he said
Ridwan Anshori, a resident of Pleret, Bantul Regency, said the same thing, who felt the earthquake tonight as if it had happened twice.
"The first one was like a small vibration, but how come the second one had a big vibration, I immediately ran out of the house," he said.
Gempa di Yogyakarta, Warga Panik Berlarian Keluar Rumah
Yogyakarta - Warga di Kota Yogyakarta panik dan berhamburan keluar rumah saat terjadi gempa bumi sekitar pukul 19.57 WIB pada Jumat malam, 30 Juni 2023.
Gempa itu berdasar laporan BMKG berkekuatan 6.4 Skala Richter, 86 km Barat Daya Kabupaten Bantul dengan kedalaman 25 kilometer.
"Saya baru mau mandi langsung nggak jadi, kerasa sekali gempanya di dalam kamar mandi," kata Ketua RT 11 RW 3 Wirobrajan Kota Yogyakarta, Budi Santoso.
Budi dan istrinya yang berada di pemukiman padat dekat Malioboro itu langsung keluar berlarian ke jalan. Pantauan Tempo, warga di kampung itu juga tampak berlarian ke jalan karena ketakutan.
"Yang bikin takut benda-benda di atas seperti kompresor AC, plafon, getar semua. Takut itu jatuh dan bangunan rubuh," kata dia
Hal serupa diungkap Ridwan Anshori, warga Pleret Kabupaten Bantul yang merasakan gempa malam ini seperti terjadi dua kali.
"Yang pertama seperti getar kecil, tapi kok yang kedua getarannya besar, langsung lari saya keluar rumah," kata dia.
