Do you believe in ghosts? During Halloween, people cosplay demons, ghosts, witches, and many other supernatural beings before knocking on doors to ask for candies and sweets. However, outside of Halloween, many people don't believe in the existence of ghosts. Well, perhaps the creepy case of Teresita Basa will change their minds. Enjoy!

The year was 1977, and Teresita Basa was stabbed to death inside her apartment located in Chicago United States. Police found no evidence or lead hence the case of her murder went cold for some time.

Teresita Basa was born in 1929 in the Philippines, she grew up with a silver spoon on her mouth. Her father was a lawyer and growing up she was given everything she needed by her parents.

Teresita Basa finished school and graduated from ACM ( Assumption College Manila ), and later on she moved and relocated to the United States to focus on continuing her education. She enrolled in a prestigious university in the U.S. and later received a Master's degree in music. She later settled down in Chicago, Illinois, and she worked as a respiratory therapist at Edgewater Hospital.

Teresita was liked by many people, she was loved and almost everybody she knows cared about her. But on February 21, 1977, her life was cut short in an unfortunate murder.

February 21, 1977, at 7:30 pm, Teresita Basa answered a phone call from her friend Ruth Loeb. Both of them talked on the phone for 30 minutes, and during this time Teresita mentioned that she had a male guest coming over to her house to visit. She did not mention the name of the visitor. An hour later after the call with Ruth, the neighbors of Teresita noticed a smokey odor that began filling the corridor.

Firefighters quickly came over to apartment 15B where Teresita was located, after extinguishing the fire they found Teresita within a fiery mattress, and she was naked.

The firefighters found Teresita's naked body underneath the mattress and they also found a knife embedded in the middle of her chest while her clothes were folded neatly next to her body.

At first, the police thought Teresita was the victim of a rape-murder crime. However everything changed after the medical examination, Teresita was not raped. It was a puzzling case, while investigators began their work Teresita's body was flown back to the Philippines in Negros Island for proper burial.

Months passed by and the police still hasn't gotten a lead and they were still having a hard time uncovering the identity and name of the murder suspect.

After some time Remy Chua a colleague of Teresita who also worked in Edgewater Hospital came to the police saying that the ghost of Teresita Basa had possessed her. The police didn't believe what they were hearing. Officers mocked the claim of Remy Chua being possessed.

The husband of Remy named Dr. Chua told the police that Remy would suddenly go comatose and later on speak in the voice of another woman. And during one possession, Remy said in a weird growling voice "I am Teresita Basa." She continued speaking in Tagalog and later on the ghost which possessed Remy claimed that Teresita had been stabbed by Allan Showery.

And after a while, Remy snapped back to her original self saying she had no memories of what happened earlier.

The police then went to the address of Allan Showery which they interrogated and later on, Allan Showery confessed to the murder of Teresita Basa.

Allan explained that he had no money for their rent that's why he went to the apartment of Teresita Basa with the intention of robbing her.

At first Allan Showery never pleaded guilty to the murder, but later on, he had a change of heart and admitted that he committed the murder along with robbery and arson. Allan later stated that the spirit of Teresita Basa visited him in prison and he was scared and spooked that's why he admitted the crimes.
