FINAL, Mahfud MD: The Asset Confiscation Bill was Signed by President Jokowi after Eid
- Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD confirmed that the draft law (RUU) regarding Confiscation of Assets has entered the final stage.
In fact, said Mahfud, the soonest after Eid the bill which is an initiative of the government will be signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"It's final. The script for the confiscation of assets is final but maybe soon after Eid it will be signed by the president's presidential decree," Mahfud told the media crew at the Command Center Building of the Korlantas Polri KM29 Toll Cikampek, Tuesday (18/4/2023).
Nevertheless, Mahfud MD ensures that the entire text of the Bill of Assets Confiscation has been completed.
Even for the typing part where typos or typos have been confirmed to be corrected.
"Because if all the substance of the draft bill has been completed, the typos have also been combed through," he said.
Regarding this matter, Mahfud MD ensures that in the near future President Jokowi will issue a presidential letter (Surpres) to the DPR RI to follow up on the bill.
"Hopefully it won't be long after Eid will put it in the first week that the press release has been sent," said Mahfud MD.
Previously, Mahfud MD ensured that the government communicated with political party leaders regarding the asset confiscation bill.
Mahfud said the communication established by the government with political party leaders was carried out both officially and unofficially.
"In terms of communication with political party leaders, we are sure. We definitely communicate with each other. Both through open media and meeting, both official and unofficial. That is a must in a democratic country. We are working on it," said Mahfud during a press conference at the office of the Indonesian Ministry of Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Central Jakarta, Friday (14/4/2023).
From this communication, Mahfud captured a positive impression from the political party leadership.
He assessed that political party leaders also want the asset confiscation bill to be submitted to the DPR immediately.
Not only that, he also assessed that the DPR also wants the same thing regarding the asset confiscation bill.
"But it seems that everyone wants the asset confiscation bill to reach the DPR both the political parties and the government as well as the DPR. The political parties have asked to submit it immediately, the DPR too," said Mahfud.

- Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik Hukum dan Keamanan RI ( Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MDmemastikan rancangan undang-undang (RUU) tentang Perampasan Aset sudah masuk tahap final.
Bahkan, kata Mahfud, paling cepat usai lebaran RUU yang merupakan inisiatif dari pemerintah itu akan ditandangani oleh Presiden RI Joko Widodo ( Jokowi).
"Sudah final. naskahnya perampasan aset sudah final tapi mungkin segera setelah lebaran akan ditandatangani oleh presiden surpresnya," kata Mahfud kepada awak media di Gedung Command Center Korlantas Polri KM29 Tol Cikampek, Selasa (18/4/2023).
Kendati demikian, Mahfud MDmemastikan kalau seluruh naskah RUU Perampasan Aset sudah selesai substansinya.
Bahkan untuk bagian pengetikan yang typo atau salah ketik sudah dipastikan diperbaiki.
"Karena kalau naskah RUU-nya sudah selesai semua substansinya, sudah disisir yang typo juga sudah disisir," kata dia.
Atas hal itu, Mahfud MD memastikan bahwa dalam waktu dekat Presiden Jokowi akan mengeluarkan surat presiden (Surpres) ke DPR RI untuk menindaklanjuti RUU tersebut.
"Mudah-mudahan tidak lama sesudah lebaran itu pada taruh lah di pekan pertama sudah dikirim surpresnya," tukas Mahfud MD.
Sebelumnya, Mahfud MD memastikan pemerintah berkomunikasi dengan pimpinan partai politik terkait dengan rancangan undang-undang (RUU) perampasan aset.
Mahfud mengatakan komunikasi yang dibangun pemerintah dengan pimpinan partai politik dilakukan baik secara resmi maupun tidak resmi.
"Kalau soal komunikasi dengan pimpinan Parpol sudah pasti. Sudah pasti kita saling komunikasi. Baik melalui media terbuka maupun ketemu, baik resmi maupun tidak resmi. Itu satu keharusan di negara demokrasi. Kita jalan tentang itu," kata Mahfud saat konferensi pers di kantor Kemenko Polhukam RI Jakarta Pusat pada Jumat (14/4/2023).
Dari komunikasi tersebut Mahfud menangkap kesan positif dari pimpinan partai politik.
Ia menilai para pimpinan partai politik juga menginginkan RUU perampasan aset segera diserahkan ke DPR.
Tidak hanya itu, ia pun menilai DPRjuga menginginkan hal yang sama terkait RUU perampasan aset tersebut.
"Tapi semuanya nampaknya sama ingin RUU perampasan aset ini segera sampai ke DPR baik parpol maupun pemerintah maupun DPR. Kan parpol-parpol sudah minta segera dong diajukan, DPR-nya juga," kata Mahfud.
