RAMADHAN DOUBLE EDGE KNIFE
By: Ahmad Syahrin Thoriq - Every believer is currently in a period of waiting, waiting for the arrival of the great guest who will soon be approaching, the month of Ramadan.
The long-awaited month of blessing is in sight. But are we really ready to welcome it? Or maybe this Ramadan will just be like Ramadan in previous years, lively and enthusiastic only at the beginning, then sluggish and helpless even before entering the semi-finals.
In fact, this could be our last Ramadan. Will it also just pass without adding much to the charity that we will bring home?
What we often hear about Ramadan is usually only the beautiful side. That it is a month of forgiveness, a month of multiplying rewards, a month of blessings and various other kinds of fadhilah.
In fact, there is another side of this month that we also need to know. Because it turns out that Ramadan is like a double-edged dagger, which can not only bring harm, but can also cause the owner to bleed.
It turns out that Ramadan not only promises beautiful dreams, but also has the potential to become a nightmare and a grave of destruction for those who play with it.
So Ramadan should be handled properly and treated with care, because it also hurts those who waste it.
This is what the Prophet sallallaahu'alaihi wasslam reminded and warned about in his words:
ورغم أنف رجل دخل عليه رمضان ثم ???
"Woe to someone who gets the month of Ramadan until it ends, but his sins are not forgiven." (Narrated by Tirmidhi)
رب صائم ليس له من صيامه إلا الجوع والعطش
"How many people who fast do not get anything from their fast except hunger and thirst." (Narrated by Nasai).
May our Ramadan this year be the best Ramadan compared to previous years. Amen.
