TAHAJUD PRAYER DEFINITION
Tahajud prayer is a sunnah prayer that a person performs at night after waking up from sleep even for a while.
LAW;
Tahajud prayer is a muakkad sunnah (a sunnah that is highly emphasized).
ORDER PROPOSAL;
Allah Azza wa Jalla says:
ا لْمُزَّمِّلُ (١) لَّيْلَ لَّا لِيلًۭا (٢) أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ لِيلًا (٣) زِدْ لَيْهِ لِ لْقُرْءَانَ لًا (٤)
O people who are covered (Muhammad), (1) RISE (TO PRAYER) IN THE NIGHT, except for a few (of them), (2)
((IE) HALF OR LEAVE from HALF a little bit, (3)
OR MORE THAN BOTH OF THAT. AND READ THE QURAN SLOWLY. (4)
(Surat al-Muzammil: 1-44)
اللَّيْلِ افِلَةً لَكَ يَبْعَثَكَ امًا ا
And ON SOME OF THE NIGHTS YOU WILL PRAY TAHAJUD AS AN ADDITIONAL WORSHIP FOR YOU; may your Lord raise you to a commendable place.
(Surat al-Isra ': 799)
PRIORITY;
Allah Azza wa Jalla says:
الْمُتَّقِينَ اتٍ (۱۵) ا اهُمْ انُوا لَ لِكَ (۱۶) انُوا لِيلًا اللَّيْلِ ا (۱۷) الْأَسْحَارِ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ (۱۸۸)
ACTUALLY THE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE ARE IN GARDENS (HEAVEN) AND springs, (15)
while accepting all the gifts of their Lord. Indeed, before that in the world they were people who did good. (16)
IN THE WORLD THEY FEEL SLEEP AT NIGHT. (17)
AND ALWAYS ASK FOR FORGIVENESS IN THE MORNING BEFORE DAWN. (18)
(Surah Adz Dzariyat: 15-188)
MAIN IMPLEMENTATION TIME;
From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
لُ ا ارَكَ الَى لَّ لَيْلَةٍ لَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا لُثُ اللَّيْلِ الآخِرُ لُ لَهُ لُنِى يَسْتَغْفِرُنِى لَهُ
"ALLAH TABARAKA WA TA'ALA HAS DROPPED TO THE SKY OF THE WORLD EVERY NIGHT UNTIL THE LAST THIRD NIGHT LEFT, Allah said: 'Whoever prays to Me, I will grant it. Whoever asks Me, I will give. Whoever asks Me for forgiveness, I will forgive."

TOTAL RAKA'AT;
From Ibn 'Umar radhiyallahu 'anhu, he said: The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam was asked about the night prayer, he replied:
لاَةُ اللَّيْلِ ا الصُّبْحَ لَّى وَاحِدَةً تُوتِرُ لَهُ ا لَّى
"The night prayer is two raka'at-two raka'at. If one of you is afraid to enter the dawn, then do one raka'at. By that means you closed the prayer earlier with witr ".
(Narrated by Bukhari no. 990 and Muslim no. 7499)
The sunnah is as explained by the hadith below.
From Aisha radhiyallahu 'anha, she said:
ا انَ لُ اللَّهِ لَّى allahالَتْ ائِشَةُ: لْتُ: ا لَ اللَّهِ امُ لَ الَ: ا ائِشَةُ امَانِ لَا امُ لْبِي
RASULULLAH SHALLALLAHU 'ALAIHI WA SALLAM DOING PRAYER (LAIL) both inside and outside Ramadan NEVER MORE THAN 11 RAKA'AT. He started by doing 4 raka'at, you don't have to ask how good and how long his prayer was. After that he returned to do 4 raka'at, you do not have to ask how good and the length of his prayer. Then he prayed 3 raka'at." Aisha said: Then I asked: "O Messenger of Allah, did you sleep before witr?". He replied: "O Aisha, my eyes are indeed sleeping but my heart is not."

READING THE LETTER AT WITIR PRAYER;
From Abdurrahman bin Abza radhiyallahu 'anhu, he said:
انَ لُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى allah
RASULULLAH SHALLALLAHU 'ALAIHI WA SALLAM DO WITIR BY READING SURAT AL-A'LA (first rak'ah), SURAT AL-KAFIRUN (second rak'ah), and SURAT AL-Ikhlas (third rak'ah). AFTER THE GREETING, he READ:
"SUBHAANAL MALIKIL QUDDUUS, 3 TIMES. He tightened the third".
