Ma'rifat is the level of surrender to Allah in stages, step by step so that it reaches a strong level of belief. People who have ma'rifat knowledge are considered as 'wise' people, because they can think deeply about all kinds of twists and turns of life in this world.
Therefore, if we are serious in studying the science of ma'rifat, it will achieve a karamah. Karamah is a privilege that is not owned by ordinary people. The form of karomah is that the eyes of our heart become alert and our sixth sense becomes sharp. If the sixth sense becomes sharp, we will be able to find out what is hidden behind events.
People whose eyes and sixth sense are sharp, then he can enter into things that are considered unseen (hidden). People who are wise (have knowledge of ma'rifat), like to pay attention to the signs of Allah's greatness with his eyes, then he contemplates with the eyes of his heart.
People are ma'rifat if they do something or decide something using their morals rather than their desires. He knows very well, whether it is lust that affects him or his conscience that says. Therefore, people who have occupied this level, always have a sharp sixth sense. He knew something was detrimental to him even though it looked as though it was profitable. He also knows what is profitable, even though it seems like a disadvantage.
So, don't be surprised, sometimes ordinary people see something as good and beneficial, but for ma'rifat people (people who have a sharp sixth sense), it is seen as something harmful.
Seeing the good and the bad with the eyes alone will not be able to know the real situation. Something that is pleasing to the eye is sometimes just a trick. Something that is bad to the eye, sometimes there is something that is profitable. So how important it is if we practice to sharpen the eyes of the heart and sixth sense.
Blind eyes are not necessarily harmful to our lives. Because many people are blind in their eyes, but are still able to do the best for themselves. In fact, he has the privilege of being more alert than those of us who have normal eyes. But if the eyes of the heart are blind, then it is a sign that our lives are destroyed, both the life of this world and the life of the hereafter.
People who are blind in heart, often feel disappointed in facing the twists and turns of life, because they often fail in making decisions. His decisions are more wrong. Because, what is used to make decisions is based more on eye sight and reason filled with lust. Thus, he is less careful and less careful. He is easily fooled by his own mirages and fantasies.
"And whoever is blind in the eyes of his heart in this world, he will also be blind in the Hereafter, far astray in his path."
"Indeed, it is not his eyes that are blind, but the eyes of his heart that are blind, which are in his chest cavity."
Therefore, how important it is for us to learn the science of ma'rifat. With the science of ma'rifat, our hearts and subconscious are protected from 'blindness'. Our hearts become clear so that everything we think and do will bring favorable results.
People who are ma'rifat, always have a good attitude towards anyone. He also always thinks well of Allah swt. Never complained in his life. He always felt close to God. Always feel love, full of hope and his heart feels always at peace.
The knowledge of ma'rifat leads us to a sincere mood in doing anything, especially worshiping Allah. Worship is done selflessly and without the desire to be praised by others.
Ma'rifat people think that if the deed is not done sincerely, but with self-interest, it will pollute his soul. If the soul is dirty, the heart will be dusty. If the heart is dusty, it means that the mind's eye and sixth sense are blind.
This group of people always keeps their heart and subconscious from being polluted by dust that can blind them. Because of that, the mood of ma'rifat people is always peaceful because they always have a good attitude towards anyone, don't hate, don't hold grudges, don't envy, don't be arrogant and don't gloat.
Because, a series of diseases such as arrogance, hate, revenge, envy and so on are emotional outbursts, not conscience speaking, but greed.
If we have studied the science of ma'rifat seriously, then we will be able to see how we become extraordinary people. Maybe we will be surprised. Because if the knowledge of ma'rifat has been mastered, then a person will be able to know God, so that between himself and God it is as if there is no boundary/intermediary, so it is as if he is able to have a direct relationship.
Besides, we will be able to easily surrender our lusts according to God's will. We feel we have no right to own, even to ourselves. Because realizing everything in this world belongs only to Allah, including our lives.
